Ringu 2, 0 (and more) in the US?

Is Universal going to release Ringu 2 and Ringu 0 in the US? And any chance the Tai-Seng-released japanese horror flicks like Dark Water and Ju-On are released (the original versions) by a bigger company?

Well, I just saw a version of the Juon original theatrical version at my local video store. I don't remember if it was a Tai Seng release or a different distro release. It did have a Raimi commentary track, so it must be a recent release.

As to the others, can't help you, although I think that I did hear of a Dark Water release.

Technically, since Dreamworks distributed Ringu here in the states, it's kinda safe to assume they'll do the distribution for the sequels too. When, exactly, is another story, although, since the U.S. sequel is going to be totally different from Japan's, there's an off-chance we might see it the week Ring 2 comes out.

Ju-On comes out this Tuesday on DVD (most definitely this is what Electrichead saw at his video store). Fox is doing the honors.

Haven't heard a thing about Dark Water.

Yeah, you're probably right. The vid rental place I go to usually breaks the street date on the Thursday before. That's why I go there instead of the local Blockbuster.

There's a toy/"we-sell-damn-near-everything" store near me does the same thing.....of course, the compromise is, no deep first week discount, a la Best Buy or Circuit City, which sucks when most DVDs' actual SRP is in the $30 range.

Although, two years in a row, they've gotten the LOTR EEs WEEKS in advance.....for that, I am grateful
