Halloween 9 storyline

Just got finished from reading the front page. So what do you guys think. Personally I think it's a step in the right direction. Then again, it could be complete bullshit. As long as the next one doesn't have any rappers in it then I'll be content. I'm sure there will be another one in the next few years. I don't care if anyone doesn't like every sequel I like, because I just love the world of the Halloween films. By the way, I only like the ones with Donald Pleasence in them.
Are you guys willing to give another sequel a chance? That is, if you're interested in the story.

Halloween 9

First let me point out that I am indeed interested in seeing another installment in the Halloween franchise, even though I loathe Halloween: Resurrection for the most part.

Of course that outline could be (and probably is) bullshit, but I am inclined to believe it a bit for one reason: it is very derivative of other Halloween films (namely part 4, with aspects of 2 and 6 as well). Do I like the outline? It's ok. It is a step in the right direction (it is at least a better plot than H8) and with people both behind and in front of the camera that actually care about the project, it could work fairly well. I hope they tool around with the script a bit more though.

As a Halloween fan, I enjoy parts 1, 2, 4, and 7 the most. The first two are excellent films, and H4 was pretty damn good as well. I like H20, it had it's heart in the right place, but what holds it back is mainly the fact that it doesn't FEEL like a Halloween film (partially due to the recycled Scream music used in it). Halloween 3 doesn't count and Halloween 6, while likeable, is basically a butchered film. That and I (like Carpenter) never really cared much for the whole Thorn storyline. As far as H5 and Resurrection go, in my opinion they are the worst of the series.

What I want out of a new Halloween film is a good plot/script, people who care about the project, and I want a return to the feel of 1, 2, & 4. The music needs to be severely kept in style with the first film. Variations are fine, but it still needs to convey the same since of dread. I also want a Loomis-esque character, although I would like him to be different in his own right. Will I get most of this? Probably not, but one can hope.

Again, that outline is a step in the right direction, even if it is just bullshit. It does need work though.

Awesome! If it is true that is. Personally I love the Halloween series. Aside from the greats like Romero's Dead series and Raimi's Evil Dead trilogy this may be my favorite ongoing series. I love the original to death, really dig on 2( have a soft spot for 3, ditto 4, hate 5, hate 6, HATE 8) and thought H20 was a great follow up plot wise but thought the actual movie was a letdown. This sounds like it could really be a solid sequel if this happens. My fingers are crossed.

Ugh, this movie-within-a-movie framework stuff is such tedious bullshit. We're not talking about brain surgery here (unless you call a machete to the face brain surgery), but you'd think they might try to find something new, anything new. It sucks when topical little tricks date these movies, like the webcam stuff in Resurrection.

My idea for HALLOWEEN 9 would be four hours long and would be the Dogme of slasher movies. Natural light, natural sound, with one location. The result would be one continous four hour take of Michael Myers stabbing Moustapha Akkad again and again and again while force-feeding him the HALLOWEEN sequels on DVD, besides the only good one, III.

Before you resort to having him stabbed to death, would you be so kind as to make him write out a refund check of $7 to me for Halloween: Resurrection.

I love pretty much all of the Halloween films...Resurrection sucked but had some cool moments, and it pissed me off that H20 ignored the other sequels, but other than that and the Dawson's Creek cast it was a solid entry....but I liked the idea I heard about bringing back Charles Cyphers as Sheriff Brackett from the first movie, in the Dr. Loomis type role to avenge his daughter Annie's death. It makes sense, and that kind of older presence is what has been missing since H6. Obviously Cyphers is no Donald Pleasence, but I think it could be good.

Either that, or having Laurie's son from H20 hunt Michael down for destroying his family. The only problem is that Josh Hartnett is probably "too big" of a star now so the role would have to be recast.

Also, maybe it was just me, but I thought a Halloween/Hellraiser crossover sounded like an interesting premise...

Halloweenmovies.com has already debunked this.

The only way I would be vaguely interested in another Halloween sequel is if it were a follow-up to Season of The Witch.
With Tom Atkins.

Aside from I and III this series sucks. I hate to think about another one.
