The lawsuit claims South Korea-based NCSoft Corp. and San Jose-based Cryptic Studios Inc. violated Marvel's trademark characters in their game ``City of Heroes.'' Marvel seeks unspecified damages and an injunction against the two companies to stop using its characters.
As far as I know you can create charaters that look like The Hulk, etc. But you can't actually use "The Hulk" as your name. You can however use, "The Hulk 10001" and other stupid offshoots.

This is yet another reason why I hate Marvel.

As good a year as they've been having, this seems mighty silly, not to mention greedy as all fuck. Next they'll be suing little Timmy for his crayon drawings of his favorite Marvel character.

I've read some more on this and it seems Marvel has been working on a MMORPG.

Isn't there something in the EULA about copyright enfringement? I guess I should read that thing more often. I should probably also delete my alternate character "The Tick?". (Yeah, it's lame, but it was fun and I hardly ever play him.) So are they talking about their main tier characters only, or will they sue over someone copying "Stiltman"? (Or was he DC?)

I love PVP.

Why not partner with them? Oh yeah, that would make sense, and mean companies owuld have to be cooperative.

Besides, what would a Marvel MMPORPG look like? 12 thousand wolverines going to fight one Magneto and getting their ass kicked? I also have to wonder what the writers and artists think about this?

Oh well, Scott Kurtz is great.

And his wife is definately a nerd.

Too bad, so sad.

Seriously, Marvel has a comic base, dozens of movies on the way, and game tie-ins - and they're suing because somebody makes a character that MAY look like Wolverine or Spider-Man? Give it a rest - if they wanted an MMORPG, they should've released one when they had the chance.

Considering the president seting case of Karate Champ I will say its going to be hard for marvel to prove the case.

Its very hard to prove stealing, even in cases when its almost clear actually stealing has occured.

What is this Karate Champ case? Anything to do with Daniel-san and Miyagi-do karate?
