Some of our videos you may enjoy

I've got a recording/performing project called Larvae here in Atlanta. I don't want to say "band" because two dudes with laptops doesn't usually constitute a band in most people's minds. So, related to that, we create videos for our live show so that people aren't stuck watching nerds with computers. We've posted a few of the videos up for the time being so people could see them without going to a show (for shame!) These are intended to be backing videos for a show, not music videos proper, so keep that in mind. Also, the audio is pretty bad, but we can't have everything!

Solo Shoots First
This should appeal to the movie lovers I would guess, as it's our tongue in cheek 'remix' of Attack of the Clones set to a song. The idea was to take all the cool ass-kicking stuff from AOTC and cut out all the romance and political drama. Oh, and since that didn't last too long, we took the Crazy 88 fight from Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Lightsabered it up. This is the color/Japanese version of that scene too, so if you haven't ever seen it in color, here's your chance. The song is from an upcoming 12" with a kind of vague SW theme.

More Distant Than You Think
This is a video for a remix we did for Enduser that came out on a 12" on Ad Noiseam. It's a mash-up of dirty south hip hop and bollywood musicals and most people seem to enjoy the humor.

Destroy All Monsters
This is how we ended the set on our last tour. It's three super-8 Godzilla films edited together with a medley of Godzilla-inspired songs that was released in 2003 by Ad Noiseam as the "Monster Music" Ep. If you like Godzilla movies, you should appreciate this, I think.

Enjoy, and let me know what you think.

Well, I watched the Star Wars one. My question is, why bother putting that first few seconds in there? Is it to introduce the use of lightsabers? Maybe mix in some more starwars stuff, maybe cut the scenes to interplay between the two, so it appears that multiple fights are going on at the same time. It's nice to see the Japanese version there. The music is good, but it doesn't quite jive with what's going on onscreen.

Either way, it's a good effort.

It's just to be funny. The video really won't hold up to any sort of critical editing analysis, it's just meant to be funny, and the intro provides a context. The idea is that we remixed the movie, but just took 10 seconds of AOTC. In actuality, I like the movie a lot, but this was kind of a gag. Cutting between that and the kill bill stuff would be an interesting idea, but really the whole point was to have fun at Kill Bill's expense, not to take the SW aspect too seriously.

I think the music works with it live as the structure of the song follows the action more closely, but yeah, that's me. Again, it's not meant to be a standalone video so much, but we had to add sound somehow. Thanks for giving it a look.
