Odd. I would seem that perhaps, just maybe, one would have asked if they were really curious as to where the attitude came from.
Instead, it's about 3 - 7 threads immediatly hurling shit at me, and then moving on about the topic. So, I guess this little tidbit of fact seems to have slipped through the cracks for the last 2 years.
Well, here you go. Now you know.
I worked for over 2 years for my ex-girlfriends father, who owned a pest control company. We had the national contract with Clorox and Johnson & Johnson to field test new Combat and Maxforce roach traps.
Where better to test roach traps than in the projects?
So, I got to go out, find the nastiest apts, put 10 3x7 inch sticky traps in each and then go back 2 days later and collect the traps to count the roaches.
Then we bait them, carry out the same bait / count routine for 3 months, and see which baits best eliminated the roach population.
Yes, I spent 2 years counting live roaches from the projects stuck to tape.
It's a job.
Anyway, 5 days a week, for 2 years, I was in the projects. I saw it first hand. Everyday. So, while I do applaud many of your noble attitudes regarding the poor, how they don't want to be that way, how it's everyone's responsibility to help them, etc... as you said to me earlier:

I would have to ask the same thing of you, because in fact, I have.
I've seen it. I've heard it. To be candid, if you've ever actually spent any time at all in the projects I would find you full of shit if you told me you had never heard it.
