The bird thing confused me for a while too, then they started blowing it up and I couldn't figure out how with their force fields.. then 1 met 2 and I realized that he knew the shields were down because the birds could touch them. Still a confusing moment that might've been a little clearer.

War of The Worlds 2 was just on Sci-Fi. It starred C. Thomas Howell and "Kid" from Kid N Play. It was, frankly, a rather disappointing affair that retained little of Spielberg's sense of scale.

I believe he directed it too. Howell, that is. As well as Asylum's THE DAY THE EARTH STOPPED. He's becoming their prestige piece.

(Ironically, Asylum's first WOTW film involved a remarkable amount of detail from Wells' book, four-legged tripods aside. Plus, it didn't have quite as much walking as Timothy Hines' version did! )

Four legged tripods.

Is he still hitched to Rae Dawn? That's the burning question that nobody is asking.

According to IMDB, their marriage only lasted a year, and they were divorced in 1990.

That's me, always with the times. I guess Far Out Man did more damage than anybody could have imagined.

I'm watching it right now. Why does Howell look and act like an aging crackhead?
