My old band

Anyone Chewers wanna hear my old band? I'll toss any mp3s yer way, if interested. We were called Mil Mulliganos (its a mouthful, to say the least.)

We broke up a few years ago, but had a pretty good run in Chicago while together. Recorded two full lengths and 2 unreleased EPs. The 2nd full length got some pretty kind press reviews. As it stands, the records are a weird marker of where I was after college.

The sound could be best described as a catchy rock band with punk and old school rock/metal influences (think Pixies, Black Sabbath, Fugazi, Afghan Whigs, Husker Du, Guided by Voices, Cheap Trick.... a real sloppy, but tasty, mess.)

We were too punk for the pop scene, too catchy for the metal scene and too riff rock for the punk scene. But dems da breaks.

Part of the reason I'm posting this is cause I have boxes of the record sitting in my basment and any little thing I can do to alleviate that cargo would be helpful.... and a boost for the ego. Almost should be in the shameless self promotion forum!....

No website. I let the domain name expire and an internet site snatched it up. Oh well.

I can email you mp3s, but I'd like to get an idea of what music yer into first. Your band (good stuff btw) sounds nothing like my band. We have our, uh, big hitz, so I could send you those.

How big of an an email attachment can your server withstand?

I can email you mp3s. listened to 76 to get an idea of your taste. Your band (good stuff btw) sounds nothing like my band. We have our, uh, big hitz, (or is it hit?) so I could send you those.

Post or PM me about mp3 size.

I have no idea about e-mail size. 3megs maybe?

Send me your very rockingist riff and (in a different e-mail?) send me the recording you are most happy with.

OK I hope people are reading, coz Key sent me one song, 'Back in School', and I dug it quite a bit. it's very much mid-nineties post grunge seattle type alternative rock, something i used to be into and am profoundly not anymore, but it still grabbed me.
It's mid-tempo, quiet at the start and loud at the end, quite simple, nothing fancy but rock solid. What i liked best was the vocal performance - too many times rock singers get all shouty in the chorus just because they think that's what they're supposed to do, but this felt like he was starting to shout because the emotions were getting stronger - ie exactly how it's supposed to be. i got an emotional reaction out of this alternative rock song and that's bloody rare from where i'm standing.

but that's enough pimping from me, i feel slightly dirty now.
