Neither am I. But the re-recorded effects in JAWS don't bother me nearly as much as the ones in the SUPERMAN or STAR WARS TRILOGY remixes.

Actually, 59 minutes, 26 seconds. I've got the 2-hour-plus version on LD, and it's very good. But it's not that monumentally
great to be so concerned about the DVD cut-down. It's more like "great by association." It's kind of hard to screw up a documentary on a film as wonderful as JAWS. And back in the LD era when "making-ofs" still had the gee-whiz factor, it might have been worth the fuss. Now? Not so much. Considering how safe and reverential all of Spielberg's documentaries are, I think an hour of fawning is plenty.
I was kinda shocked to see that the E! True Hollywood Story on JAWS contained a bunch of behind-the-scenes footage and interviews (including the late Robert Shaw in costume as Quint!), much of which was nowhere to be seen in either the DVD or LD docos.

Fair enough. I can agree with that. I just think there are PLENTY worse releases from Universal that could use some luvin'.
