I must admit I've never seen this movie but the DVD looks pretty cool.

Is it worth buying? What do you guys think?

Return of the Aliens: The Deadly Spawn?

I know it's the same movie, they just dropped the first part.

I've seen the movie a couple of times. Some good gore scenes, good special effects...

Overall, for a low budget horror film, it's good. 7.5 out of 10.

Go for it.

It's hokey fun...if you enjoy low-budget independent 80's stuff, this ain't that bad...well, the creature was quite cool, (I actually think the FX guy came up with a cool looking creature and they wrote the film around it)...very derivative, though, but fun.

Ending sucks, though.

Buy it if it's CHEAP!

On a similar note, anyone remember the name of the 'sequel' to this film...made late 80's. Set inside some kinda 'Andromeda Strain' looking underground bunker? All I remember about this was the bloody computer constantly trying to outdo 'Mother' from Alien with it's constant babble about 'temperature', rooms being 'breached' or 'off-limits', etc, etc, etc...

Any ideas?

According to the IMDB trivia page for this one:

There's an unofficial sequel, Metamorphosis: The Alien Factor (1993). In many parts of Asia, it was distributed under the name "The Deadly Spawn 2: The Metamorphosis". Because Metamorphosis was made for millions of dollars more, and had much higher production values than the deadly spawn did, the producers wanted to seperate them altogether.

Yup, that's it! Cheers Dix!...though the IMDB has DEFINITELY got the date of release wrong; I saw it in late '91/early '92. And the production values WERE better!

Bet this never comes to DVD, though.

Did this just get released on DVD or something? Is it region 0 or 1? Now I'm interested. Never heard of it before.

I've just been on the Synapse web site and The Deadly Spawn isn't on there. Although on Movietyme they have it in stock, with the Synapse logo on the disc. Weird.
