My boy Brian Keene dropped some cool shit on me check this out.

I'm happy to announce that I've signed a deal with Indie Gods Publishing for a six-issue comic book adpatation of THE RISING. The comic will be drawn by Rich Molinelli.

Indie Gods also recently signed a deal with Clive Barker for LOST SOULS. I'm very happy to be working with them.

Rising Comic

And a little more,

It's too early to really determine when this will see distribution. Our plan is to finish 3 full issues before releasing the first.

The Rising comic series will be B&W with full color covers.

Brian will be handling the writing chores himself on this project.

BTW, I've just finished reading Battle Royale books 1 & 2 and I'm starting on 3. If you enjoy horror AND manga you might want to check out Hideshi Hino. He's already released 200 books and 5 are currently available in the U.S.

Hmm... seems interesting. The novel was great. I'd really love to see some of the sweet kills described in the novels brought to visualization.

Didn't Keene also agree to a feature film and a video game based on The Rising?

EDIT: Whoopsies. Just read the Indie God link. Yes, The Rising is also going to be a movie and video game. Let's hope these properties fall into the right hands.

Yeah Brian's world is hardcore and cool as shit!

I can't wait to play that video game. Lets also hope its based on the book.

I wonder if the video game will include that part in the book where Frankie sucked off that soldier in the Humvee... I can imagine that being a nice minigame to break up the monotony of shooting zombies. Probably a Parappa-style button combination thing. That would be fun.

Can´t get enough of zombie comics.Is there a release date for this comic? I guess i could read the website but i´m to lazy.

Thanks for the promo! There is no set release date on "Brian Keene's The Rising" as of yet. We'll be releasing a free online, downloadable PDF sketchbook in the next month though to introduce the characters of "The Rising".

Also remember for those who didn't get a harcover copy of Brian's "City of The Dead" the paperback hits stores in june along with a second print of "The Rising".
