Trader Jack? Or Basinger? (Like she has something to do during the day)

If it's either Jack or Keaton I'll scream. If it's Jack, I will buy 2. Only if he took his vallium before recording it.

I have huge quibbles with all four movies, needless to say, ill be buying the box set of all four, Batman is entertaining, even with all the problems I have with it, and I definitely want to hear commentaries on all of them and see any material that was excised from all of them. And Batman and Robin is one of my favorite awful movies to watch when drunk with a group of buddies, just for all the cheesy Arnold one liners.

Just be aware that the boxed set currently available is NOT the set with the special editions.
You will have to wait until this fall for the set with commentaries. The current is just the barebones editions all ready avaialble boxed together. You have been warned.

I am convinced that Warner's is hoping a few people buy the current set in the belief that they are the SE, and then in the autumn they can get a double dip.

Saw this on the Digital Bits and thought it might be of interest:

We haven't confirmed all of the information you're about to receive, so treat the following appropriately.

BUT... the Batman on Film website is reporting that Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever and Batman & Robin will be released on 10/18 as new 2-disc sets. That's the same day as our own sources indicate the recent Batman Begins will be released (and our sources have confirmed the 10/18 date for the other Batman films as well). All four titles will reportedly also be available on that day in a box set called Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology 1989-1997. Each 2-disc set will feature a new anamorphic widescreen transfer of the film, along with new director commentaries by Joel Schumacher and Tim Burton, cast and crew interviews, several new documentaries and behind-the-scenes featurettes, music videos from Prince, Seal and the Smashing Pumpkins, trailers, TV spots, vintage footage, etc. There's also word that Schumacher has created a new, 150-minute director's cut of Batman Forever, and that both the original cut and the new cut will be included on the DVD via seamless branching. Thanks to Bits reader Seth C. for the heads-up.
It'll be sweet to be able to grab the '89 BATMAN and BATMAN BEGINS on the same day. It should be real interesting to hear how a 150 minute version of FOREVER can improve upon the theatrical version.

I was hoping Burton's two Batman films would be available separately. I don't want to bother with FOREVER or B&R nor have either in my collection.

I already own the barebones discs for Burton's films, but I want to hear his audio commentary.

Not sure if I'll be buying this set.

I think you can buy them seperately or as a complete set. So no Clooney credit card will be forced down our throats.

They take you out of the movie at times, which is the worst.
I agree, and that's one of the things I really dug about the newest film. Gotham looked like a city where people would live and work; the Burton films did not and it took me out of the film.

What I loved about the Gotham in Burton's films is that it was much livelier, resembling a comic book come to life.

The Gotham in the new film, while being less artificial aesthetically, didn't make me want to visit there. It looked too suburban.

I definitely won't be buying this set, especially now that it's been somewhat confirmed at The Digital Bits that there won't be a new cut of BATMAN FOREVER after all. However, once they break it up into individual titles, I'll probably pick up the first two. Since I don't think very highly of the extras Warners usually commissions, I'm mostly interested in improved picture and sound quality.

Yeah, I'll just be going for 1 & 2 as well. I can somewhat stand "Forever" (I think because the Riddler is one of my favorite Batman villains), but "B&R" makes me want to retch. Especially Alicia Silverstone's craptacular acting in the movie.

Edit: Ha, why didn't I check the DVD forum.......
The lack of the FOREVER director's cut is pissing me off, but hopefuly those deleted scenes are what got cut out of it.
Athough I have very fond memories of enjoying Batman and Batman Forever, I don't really like either film. Batman and Robin I absolutely despise and will only ever watch it again if/when Crow and Tom Servo get to watch it with me. Batman Returns is the only one I can still tolerate and actually like, it's just got something to it.

That said, I look at the extensive list of special features and I'm fascinated... I may actually purchase a few of these or at the very least rent them all.

I'm wondering if Batman will have the "Where does he get those wonderful toys" capper "Well don't just stand there... GO AND ASK HIM!", the latter of which has been cut from every version of the film I've seen since watching in the theatre.
Y'know I hate Batman and Robin, but I'm gonna have to at least rent it for the commentary track.
As terrible as Batman and Robin is, Arnold's performance alone makes it one of the most fun quotable movies, as well as one of the best beer/pizza/friends movies as well. Dreadful in all the right ways.
anyone check out the dvd covers at www.dvdanswers.com? pretty nice, just not really a fan of the font though...
They stuck with the original posters. Nice, I wish the Returns one was the snowy teaser poster though, that was so cool.
I actually still have the posters from all 4 hanging up in my basement. So I'm happy with the choice to use them for the covers.
I hate the font they used, but I am glad they went with the original posters.
I like.
The vintage cover art is always nice but yeah, that font is a real eyesore. Between this and the new, revised, Cameron-armpit-friendly cover for TITANIC, studio packaging designers must be losing their little Photoshop-happy minds.

Totally agree, I actually would have preferred all the covers be the teaser posters, at least for consistency's sake. They were all pretty good: the classic logo for Batman, the aforementioned snow covered Batlogo for Returns, the Batlogo encapsulated by a green question mark for Forever, and the Bird-within-Batlogo for Batman & Robin.

Did IMDB just make shit up again, or is there really a deleted scene where Uma kills Elle Macpherson during a KNIFE FIGHT?
Yeah, I heard that too. Supposedly she kills Julie in a knife fight, which is why Batgirl looks so afraid when she whips it out on her. Supposedly it was going to be a subplot with Batman now out for revenge. I don't know. It sounds reasonable enough because otherwise, McPherson is just sort of there, building to no purpose, and then just totally forgotten. Seeing as how the rest of the film is a mess, this could just be coincidence, but I think its possible that it was planned. As for filmed? I sort of doubt it.
