I'm looking for a good liquor drink. Can anyone recommend one for someone who vurps up every shot he seems to try? It cannot contain Southern Comfort, as the mere thought of it makes me want to spew like that puppet in Team America. All I can ever think of is a Captain and coke when I'm out.

Ignore the standard shots. try a really good tequila (the bottles don't have a hat on). try an Islay whiskey or a XO brandy. try somethig that you aren't expected to neck in one go. if you have to neck it to appreciate it, it might be telling you something. otherwise spend a dozen years or so learnimg how to apreciate wine or, as the eminently wise Psychward says, lay off the booze.

there's always bud lite.

Actually I barely ever drink. I'm alone too much and I can't bring myself to drink alone (woe is me). That's why I want suggestions. So it gives me a reason to go out places, try some drinks and hopefully meet some people.

Mojitos (pronounced moe-hee-toes) are good. If you want to drink AND have fresh breath, order a Sambuca on the rocks. If you want a juice based mixed drink, try Grey Goose vodka with a splash of cranberry.

I'll put my two cents in -

...............Jose Cuervo Especial......the whole liter...straight

that's all you need

If you must, after that mix more tequila with bacardi 151, rye whiskey and everclear...add a decent merlot or a cheap sangria (depending on pocket book) or Dr Pepper for flavor...Two to three glasses of that and just try and say the phonetic alphabet backwards

tequilla comes right up on me too. i'll make margaritas every once on a long while. besides cuervo i've had Sauza, which seemed ok to me

My favorite mixed drink at the moment is one of those mini bottles of coconut rum poured into a medium fountain Orange Crush, add a lot of lime chunks and you are on a tropical vacation.

Yeah, well............I got nothin

I never had the ability to open my throat and just throw a shot back. It's not something that's pleasant to work on either. Now give me a tall glass of milk and I'll kill that puppy in 2 seconds flat.

That coconut rum drink does sound tasty

Good call with the milk...

watch out for that rum dude...I've only had a few experiences with it, but coc rum is not playing around...shit's hardcore

Indeed it is. The danger with it is that you don't really taste it and don't notice the effects for awhile, so it's easier to get sick. I had to suffer through this the other night when I was playing pool, and consequently got my ass kicked. Not that I cared at the time, I was too busy trying to see straight.

Try something with a flavored rum. My girlfriend loves Parrot Bay pineapple and Sprite. I tried it and it's quite tasty.

My favorite mixed drink at the moment is Dickel and Coke, mixed at about 3:1. It's pretty strong but it's easy to sip.

When it comes to shooting, you can't go wrong with ice cold Jager.

Or, you could just stick with the rum and coke. That's my personal fav, and I see nothing wrong with drinking that.

However, if you're just looking for something different, try this:

Mix everclear, you're favorite fruity flavored liquor (I usually use some of that puckers stuff...I like the watermelon or the sour apple) and sprite. Do it right, and you won't know the everclear is in there, and you'll be drunk in no time. It sounds girly and fruity, but it tastes good, and that's all that matters. But I'm mostly a beer man. Just give me a Newcastle and I'm happy

I personally don't think you can go wrong with rum n' cokes or screwdrivers. If you're out at a bar though, watch out, believe it or not they'll mix them strong sometimes and catch you off guard, especially if you're a big tipper.

The ONLY tequila is Patron. End of story.

I'm pretty fond of appletinis, mixed with vodka instead of gin. They taste just like a sour apple jolly rancher. YUM.

Here's a pu$$y ass drink but I love it. You can actually do this with alot of the flavored Stolis. The Dreamsicle. Orange Juice and Vanilla Stoli. I'm sure you can mix it with coke or DP as well. They also have all kinds of other flavors. Also, if you like Grapefruit jiuce like I do, be an old man and drink Greyhounds. I once had around 15 at an open bar at a wedding. Not pretty.

Just seeing Captain Morgan mentioned in this thread made me throw up a little in my mouth. I've been to one too many High School parties dominated by that shit. College is probably the same.

I used to drink gimlets every now and then. Not bad at all. I like to drop a few of those tart pearl onions in mine.

White Russians are great. Tastes like chocolate. For a shot, I like Irish Carbombs, but they knock you on your ass afetr one or two...as any good shot should.

I have just the drink for you. One part each Kahlua, Bailey's, Amaretto. Good as a shot. Or double the amount of each and top it off with milk for a drink you can sip. You can also add icecream, strawberries, etc.

I love coconut rum and orange juice.

When I'm feeling lazy I just drink Bailey's straight.
