The Cave

Sony's new monster movie has it's own website along with the first trailer!

http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/thecave/

Alright, I'm pumped! I'm a big monster fan and have ranted here before
about the lack of big budget(or decent budget) big studio monster flicks.

Creature designs by Patrick Tautopolis(Pitch Black).

I'm there!

The trailor/premise makes me think of Deep Blue Sea for some reason, except with a bunch of SPELUNKERS.... same set of "Oh my God! We were doing things we shouldn't have! Now we're trapped ungerground/underwater, trying to escape while being stalked by big monster thing/things!" Looks like it might be a decent action/thriller. I did enjoy Deep Blue Sea after all.

Also...
1 point goes to me for using the word SPELUNK in a post.

I can't wait for this movie hit, looks really good in my eyes. The movie reminds me of Endless Descent a little but the creature effects look good. This better be R rated

Looks like someone read The Descent.

. . . and made it badly.

It's Aliens from the Pitch Black Cave!

Trailer opens nicely, but ends up looking absurdly bad.

So, what does this creature snack on when humans aren't around?

this should have been the fake movie that Hauser was pimping in Paparazzi (instead of Adrenaline Force)

The trailer reminds me of ´What Waits Below´ (aka Phantom Caverns), a really crappy 80s horror film. The plot of ´What Waits Below´ was pretty similar to The Cave, a bunch of people enter an unexplored cave and get attacked by monsters.

Badmovies.org did a fun review of it:
