Where Graveyards Go to Die - 4:52

I feel totally at ease in your world
I’m the salt that sticks to the edge of a wound and I’m feeling for you
You live in shadow, my livid dream
The piece in between
You’re glitter to the grime to my upheaval of bile and I’m still feeling fine
All eyes on me, fight and bleed
Pry the seams apart and see
A thousand other days like today

Velvet something brushes me, refreshes me, repels me
It’s over before it starts
But the exercise feeds the beast, bleeds the meat, allegiance free
Soldier on through the war, water, fire, and love

Feed my desire, blazing like a pyre
One last retraction in the blinking of an eye
Thorns free from roses, rigid final poses
Welcome to the place where graveyards go to die

I feel the purity, the way you left me
I’m the soul that fuels the barricade between then and never again
I lust for power in bite sized bursts
The pieces of the machine
You’re the sublime I find between the limestone and the divine

Velvet something brushes me, refreshes me, repels me
It’s over before it starts
But the exercise feeds the beast, bleeds the meat, allegiance free
Soldier on through the war, water, fire, and love

Feel my desire, blazing like a pyre
One last retraction in the blinking of an eye
Thorns free from roses, rigid final poses
Welcome to the place where graveyards go to die

I'm loving the grooves this band is churning out thus far. There's some Sabbath/Corrosion of Conformity here, but Nick's vocals and Dave's bass take it elsewhere. Way too much fun. Kudos on the tres evocative lyrics, too, Nick.

Another Chewer on a different song made the comment that that track was overproduced.

I think the production on these is just amazing. Better than some of my albums that are store bought. Clear, sharp and layered so as to use a lot of space. I'm not a fan of the metal, but I can appreciate this song.

It started out very promising. Guitar sound is tight up until the verse starts. The vocals have a unique quality of sounding like something so very common to my ears, but I know it's not one steady influence.

My only bit of criticism would be that the vocals on the upbeat is muddy. And comes off as a bit held back.
Nothing wrong with a grin while you sing, but with this songs amped up sound everywhere, the vocals would do more justice if they responded to the riff as opposed to levelling it.

I am a snob. You guys are on to something though, so don't take this as a back handed noncompliment. I want to say what I hear influences of would be the following; Corrosion + Chains + Motorhead + Black Keys + Puddle of Mudd.

I'm not saying you guys sound like a culmination of these different bands, but rather I hear bits and blips all throughout Graveyards, and that makes me think there is something golden being held back. If you sounded like a culmination of 3 of these bands I would for sure buy your record. Badass someday should be you mantra. That or "Kill Whitey!"

Thanks man. I think you'll start to feel that this new entity (which will eventually not be called Night Package) has a more distinct "voice" than the others. Especially, when you hear Dave on drums battling against Micah's guitar. Should be pretty exciting.

This also reminds me a lot of Clutch. In a good way though, hope to hear more from you guys

I'm digging this hard. The lyrics and the music are both working for me, particularly the bass line.
