I've been reading both of these mags for years but recently I have to say that Fangoria is falling out of favor with me rapidly. It seems their issues are centered around how many pics of a particular film they can get. The movie that turns over the most stills wins the cover. It's not based on quality anymore. Did I really need to read a big ass article on Alone in the Dark when everyone knows, including the guys over at Fangoria, that it is going to suck hard.

I have no such issues with Rue Morgue and think they have been getting steadily better with every issue. The writing is a notch above that of Fangorias. It's just a whole lot more interesting for some reason.

I will continue to buy both mags, the horror junkie that I am. I can only hope that Fangoria gets its shit together.

My vote goes to Rue Morgue.

I've read both for years (Fangoria for well over a decade) and after reading this current issue I really had an "issue" with Fangoria. I've noticed a trend forming with each mag...Rue Morgue tends to cover the more obscure and overseas releases and Fangoria tends to cover the plastic, mainstream stuff.

I don't hate Fangoria, and I'll continue to buy it, but when I want to read about movies I actually enjoy, I'll read my Rue Morgues.

Couldn't agree more Blind Dead. The latest Fango really pissed me off. They should rate the mag PG-13.

I used to read Fango religiously. But the price of the magazine, the mainstream focus, and the quality of Rue Morgue's writing steered me in the other direction.

I think Fango covers more movies and more news than RM. Also, I don't care much for music and books.

And anyway RM is so expensive over here (and VERY hard to find), I just can't buy every issue.

I only wish Fango would start covering more movies that I actually give a shit about instead of spending 3/4 of the mag on movies that are debateable as horror films.
