TREES is actually surprisingly funny. It's a dead on, scene for scene parody of JAWS only based around a man-eating Great White Pine tree stalking a forest. They literally take entire scenes from JAWS that we're all familiar with and turn them completely on its head by basing it around a killer tree. The movie really has no business being as amusing as it is. The only negative is that the budget was very low and there's a couple of scenes where its obvious they could have used a few more bucks to get the shot just right.
As for
ROOTS OF ALL EVIL, I don't know a whole lot about that one other than its a sequel that seems to be more of an original story (as opposed to the JAWS mimicking of the previous flick) dealing with a town plagued by killer Christmas trees. Last I had heard it was set for release on DVD this past Christmas but the release was put on hold.
Here's the official website for both films.
