My personal opinion the name Boogyman only belongs to Michael Myers in the original halloween movie.

It's going to be a bad movie. I'm not going to waste my time thinking about it after reading the Fango article on it.

i'm gonna check it out.

though i still think the ultimate "monster in the closet/under the bed" movie has yet
to be made.

"they" had so much potential and it just imploded on itself. such a shame.

I saw the Grudge and that movie sucked ass. It's the same director and it's rating is PG-13 so its going to suck. I'm not wasting my cash on it. will see Hide N Seek rather looks better anyways.

Both are by Raimi's Ghosthouse company, but do you live in a Bizarro universe where Stephen T. Kay = Takashi Shimizu?

Me Portalizarro...me thinks Grudge was bad, me think Grudge should not have been remade..me thinks Boogyman will suck due to PG-13 cause in Bizarro world PG-13 Horror is wrong.

Ok I know that Ghosthouse is with Raimi's but he introduces new directors to do those movies. Like for the remake of Evil Dead, Raimi is not touching that with a 10 foot pole. he is touching and fondeling Evil Dead 4 with Bruce.

Boogyman might be a rental but not to see on the big screen. When I saw the Grudge was not scared at all, mostly laughed at the High school kid's screams over the bad (here comes the scare) scene. My girlfriend was dissapointed in the film too and she enjoys horror flicks as much as I do.

My brother is biting the bullet for me this weekend. If he likes it, then I'll give it a shot. If not? Rental.

Two words: Darkness Falls. That's what I think everytime I see the trailer for this. Well it's a close race between that and They as to which one pops into my head first.

Ahh, I agree.

I don't really think this will be a good film, let alone horror film. But, with the lack of mainstreem horror flicks I can bring my girlfriend to, there's a good chance I'll be catching this in the theater. I hate movies that have such a good premise, or could be good, and then it just gets a ridiculous treatment. This looks like one of those.

I saw it tonight and it was actually not too bad. It had a few spots that were geniunely scary. The downside of the movie, and its a big one, is its overuse of the very popular quick scare gimmick. The scene will be moving along with the characters doing average things and then, for no reason, theirs one of those super loud high pitched shreiking sounds and a bright flash on the screen. Once its done the characters are still doing the same thing, nothing happened and it doesnt seem to imply the characters should have heard anything either but the seven minute timer the editor was using called for another quick scare so he spliced it in.

If you can look past that and a few plot holes its a decent movie. I dont see how being rated R or not makes something a better movie though. If your judging a movies quality based on blood and harsh language then your likely to miss alot of good stuff.

Ack, I knew nothing about this coming out, and I have to say, despite (surprisingly mildly) negative word, the look is interesting, and the concept appeals greatly to me. Stephen Kay's previous film was the ill-advised GET CARTER remake, which was terrible, but it had a distinct look that made me notice that at least he's got a nice eye, something probably better suited to a ghost story with such a malleable premise.

Really obnoxious movie. The cinematic equivalent of someone blasting an air horn in your face for 90 minutes. When will filmmakers learn that LOUD does not equal SCARY!

Apart from the truly laughable attempts at "jolting" the audience, the story was pale and the lead was uninteresting. I'd actually rate this slightly less interesting that Darkness Falls, so wrap your head around that. The only surprising thing about the movie is that Zooey Deschanel has an older, not-quite-as-cute sister.

Ouch. Darkness Falls is my most hated horror movie ever so I guess I'm definitely skipping this one. Rental? Perhaps if I'm really bored one night.

It was a great movie. I bought an industrial drum of buttered popcorn, a box of snow caps and a gallon of Cherry Coke, walked in with a smile expecting an entertaining flick with a few jumps and got what I wanted. I walked out with a smile and some leftover pop and popcorn. *shrugs* Some fans are never happy.

I guess Sideways and Million Dollar Baby weren't good enough to watch then...

Just got back from seeing it (for free, thankfully).

Shit, bile, crap. So many negative adjectives I could use....
