The Bored's Tale

So, I got The Bard's Tale because reviewers said that although the game mechanics were eh, the script and voiceacting were hilarious.
I'm bored stiff. Does it get funnier after the first village, or is it this a "faint chuckle" game all the way?

I'm considering trading it in for Fable or Pirates.

Fable sucks.

slater did a review sometime ago.

I liked the game. gameplay got a little bit monotonous, but there's a ton more creativity and fun to be had in bard's than there is in fable.

if you're looking for humor, but not the same brand of humor as Bard....the new Vampire game has been amusing the fuck out of me for the past week.

And I started a new game as a Tremere, just to keep my eyes from crossing. My malk charcter is stuck on the only level (late in the game) that requires twitch reflexes and dead on accuracy. I tried to use the console to cheat, because I cannot get past this, and the graphics freeze after I leave the console.

So, I loaded up Bard's Tale, and got bored. Slater's review is one of the things that got me to get the game, despite his warnings about the monotny and the cheap shots and the frustration, because of the script and actors.

It's probably funny if you play these games all the time, but I never got into this type (Baldur's Gate, et al), so....my mistake.
