The Covenant as the Bush Administration

I suppose this could go in the Video Game or Politics forum. Though Humor is probably more appropriate considering the source of the link.

This might be old webjunk but I thought it was funny. I can see where Staten was coming from but they didn't really bother with trying to flesh out any ideas. I mean, I think it's fairly obvious by now that Bush is a religious zealot out to take over the world.

The guys already stated he didn't mean anything in conjunction with the Coventant as the Bush Administration last I checked...

Oh really? I realize it's old but I just saw it today. Staten tried to backpedal or something?

If "bungiefella" truly is Joe Staten, this is an incredible turn of events and a testament to the power of FreeRepublic to generate discourse.

Can't say I blame you; that shit is ridiculous. Where did you see this, though? I remember this discussion getting linked at halo.bungie.org around the time the game came out, and suddenly I'm seeing it mentioned again in a few places.

I saw it at Unfiction in a thread about the HALO movie.

FreeRepublic terrifies and mystifies me in equal proportion.
