Soldier of Misfortune

Knapsack lipstick dipshit flapjack half stack ass crack eye black armed to teeth
Wet behind the ear wet in the shit magnet bulls-eye bird’s eye greasepaint
I’m available to die at your convenience just wind me up and let me go
In the direction that I’m facing until I don’t have a face to face to face
Dog face dog shit dog tag lay me down six feet in the ground

Bobby's got a new look now
Pine draped in Betsy minus the Ross
Collar ringing the door
He's selling subscriptions to Soldier of Misfortune

Shrink wrap sand trap hooker clap see how I did that little white boy rap
Let me hold the 16 cockeyed shot to shit now my baby clothes fit
Hand there leg there head in a bowling bag shoot a rag beef that foxy news
Deck short of three kings, wonder why I always lose
Androgynous comedy chick, did Nora have a dick
These are thoughts I think when fire ain’t friendly
remind me not to burn in hell

Davey's got a new look
Urn over Betsy minus the Ross
Temp ringing the door
He's selling subscriptions to Soldier of Misfortune

Bullet baby, will you be my pride and joy

Believe the ad grab a sword kill a dragon
Only thing dragon is my knuckles
Primate primer ignition land mine leave no man behind now my captain’s blind
Fray ties that bind goose step daily grind but I’m up it if I’m a puppet
I’m a marionette better yet I’m a mannequin trained to kill
Geppetto I thought you lived in poverty
Is that a jacked up H2 you’re wearing or is it wearing you
I thought I knew you

Nicky’ got a new look
Handcuffed to Betsy minus the Ross
Lawyer shows me where I have to sign

Love this.

Great lyrics too.

Thanks. I really like the way this turned out.

So very much a fan of this song. This band's groove factor is off the charts right now. Love how organically it came together, too.

Good stuff guys. Have you ever heard Five Style or Heroic doses? If you guys are really into funk check them out. Do you guys practice much? You sound really tight.

Generally, how it works is we get together and just play. Usually someone has an idea or a theme or we just jam organically until something comes out. We are lucky in the sense that pretty much all of us can play multiple instruments. Once we have something, each player records their parts and then Nick does his thing with the vocal side and then mixes it down. We play and record for the fun of it.

Anyway, thank you for the compliments. All feedback is greatly appreciated.

As far as I go, I love this song. While I disagree wholeheartedly disagree with Nick's lyrics, his execution is great and overall I think everyone involved ripped it.

The lyrics are just that. I write about stuff, not use them as a pulpit for my beliefs. The song Exploder was a rah-rah, let's go to war song and this is a 'does our government have any respect for its soldiers' well being?' song. I'm Jack is about an abusive boyfriend.

They're just lyrics. Thanks for liking the performance, though.

The performance is great. The thing with me is that I never really listen to lyrics. As you know Nick, I listen to a lot of instumental music so when lyrics are involved it is more the singing itself I am tuning into to. Anyway, your singing has only been getting better lately, so keep it up, Frank!

Just got an iPod Shuffle and this was one of the first suckers to go in.

When can we expect more?

I'll echo that I love the groove you guys have, but the vocals/lyrics didn't work for me here for some reason. I'll give it another listen.

I know I don't often comment on the music side of things, but I do download and listen when I get the chance. This is my favourite track yet - I like the different vocal style, it really suits the music and Nick's voice.
