Capcom has not been forthcoming with the details, but acclaimed Studio 1 producer, Tatsuya Minami announced on Wednesday that Mega Man X Collection, a product that symbolizes the height of the Capcom platforming era, would release later this year. Though no further details were revealed, a brief video displayed showed the title in action. At least, we can only assume it was the title and not emulated or original versions of the Mega Man X games it promises to include.
The bundle will apparently be comprised of the first three SNES Mega Man X games as well as the PlayStation versions of Mega Man X4 through X6. Additionally, Capcom will include the import Mega Man Battle & Chase. This Japan and Europe only PSOne cart racing game was not approved for North American distribution by Sony, so it should be quite a treat for fans of the series that shy away from imports.

Specific release info is to be announced. Expect more details at this year's Electronic Entertainment Exposition in May.
As long as they keep the $30 price tag of the last one, I'm in.

YES. Greatest Mega Man games ever.

I played the first Mega Man X game to death back in the day, but I never really got into the sequels or gave them time. I'd be interested in revisiting them though, but then again I still haven't gotten my hands on the first Mega Man Collection that got released. As with everything else... someday.

Now I'm gonna dig out the first one and play it again. My initial impression of it was kind of blah, but then it totally grew on me. I love that game.

One thing that always bugged me about Megaman though... Why can't that little blue bomber duck? Argh! At least he could dash and slide. And why couldn't bionic commando even do a little hop? What if he was walking in the street and wanted to get up on the sidewalk? He'd be screwed if there were no trees or streetlights around to latch onto. He might get hit by a bus.

X3 was my personal favorite. The ability to upgrade Mega Man was a classic addition, made this into a semi-rpg platformer, kind of like Symphony of the Night.
