Preacher - Page 2

post #51 of 60
I can definitely see Danny Trejo as the Saint, he's made of leather and is pretty imposing. Alan Rickman would be perfect as Starr. I like the idea of McConaughey as Jesse as well as Robert Carlyle as Cassidy. I only hope no one considers Jessica Simpson to play Tulip.

EDIT: I found a makeup/prosthetic artist's page that has a pretty good Arseface, as well as sketches of an angel, the Devil, and Sam Jackson as the Saint.

how about this one

I know this might sound a little wrong, but I really think Colin Farrell would make a great Jesse, now before you get up in arms he has done the whole southern thing in Tigerland. Naomi Watts would be a wicked Tulip and maybe someone like Jude Law (never happen) or maybe Dominic Monaghan as Cassidy.

Throw in Lance or maybe Sam Elliot as the saint, Micheal Beihn as Jody, Clint Howard as TC and Amy Madigan as Jesses Grandma.

Michael J. Anderson would make a better Jesse that Matthew McConaughey.*

Trainspotting & Full Monty's Robert Carlyle as Cassidy, 'nuff said.

God help us if James Marsden is still attached to the lead in this (or as Cyclops in X-Men 3).

I've got it;

Matthew McConaughey as Jesse Custer, in the role of his lifetime.

Charlize Theron as Tulip, Farrel as Cassidy, Picard as Starr, John Goodman as Allfather, and CC as the Saint.

William Hung as arseface, for irony.

Given the books content, do you think any major studio would do justice to a Preacher film? I think not.
If they do a Preacher film it'll be just like Constantine, a film that slickly eschews the attitude of the source material, and hobbles about with its balls stapled to its inner thigh.
