I'm still enthralled completely with Resident Evil 4. Also still playing Lotr the Third Age, with a bit of Xmen Legends thrown in for good measure.

I just copied and pasted my list from another recent thread:

Ace Combat 5 - great fun, but some silly Japanese-isms need to be shitcanned.
Ratchet 3 - actually finished first playthrough, but it's still too much fun to stop playing.
Rome: Total War - doubt I'll get very far, not a big RTS guy, and this was a gift.
Battle for Middle-Earth - see above.
Gothic 2 - Really great (and much overlooked) rpg.
Resident Evil 4 - I'm taking my time with this one, loving it too much.
Mechassault 2 - GODDAM FUCKING TURRET MISSION! Jesus Christ!
Mercenaries - polished off the first deck of cards, will get back to it soon.
Champions: Return to Arms - always fun when played with friends.

Knights of the Old Republic II (Xbox): Just started, got the fuck off Peragus. Loving it, despite the shonky graphics.

Mercenaries (Xbox): Still plodding through this, though the buzz has worn off a tad. About a third of the way through, I think.

Half Life 2 (PC): I need to get back to this. My last save was just as the Strider's are introduced.

The Punisher (Xbox): Fun for a ten minute blast. Doubt I'll play it to the end, but I keep nipping back in for a few levels mindless slaughter.

Shadow of Rome (PS2): Goddam, the stealth sections of this game kill it stone dead. Too little hack and slash, way too much creeping around as the Roman version of Raiden and hiding in fucking pots.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath (Xbox): Only a few levels in. Looks cute, but I don't really see why it's getting so much praise. It's lost a lot of the Oddworld charm.

Plus sundry other titles barely worth mentioning that I'm playing for work purposes. Legend of Kay, Spongebob the movie, that sort of thing.

Winning Eleven 8 - Damn this is a great game. Consumes most of my gaming time. Sadly, no widescreen support.

NBA Street 3 - Slight improvement over the last one. Best if you're playing with friends.

Mercenaries - Finally broke down and got the component cables. Seeing this game in widescreen made me want to play thru it again.

Rise of Nations - My favorite RTS for the PC. Played when my wife is watching TV

I hope my gushing posts weren't too much of an influence on your purchase (assuming you bought it). The lustre is starting to wear off for me too. I think a little more adventure-game-style plotting and interactivity would help this title out immensely. As it is, this is the kind of game I'll come back to after a few weeks and find myself having fun with again.

Resident Evil 4--Been distracted as hell since 4-2, hence why the non-clearedness....or something.
Burnout 3--On hold till I get the XBox version.
Ninja Gaiden--Fuck. You. Zombie. Archers.

Halo/Halo 2--I thought I was finally really good, as I managed to kick the shit out of Legendary in Halo 1 within a week....doing pretty good tackling 2......then I realized, as my ass was swiftly sliced and served with truffles and a fine wine for the enjoyment of cackling little fuckers with level 5 ratings last night on XBox Live, that I've only played Halo in multiplayer twice.....3 years ago. I don't know maps. I don't know where shit is. The kills I have gotten were in swordfights, with random parties, and out of the grace of stealth.

In other words, I need practice.

Well, I did get a free copy as it happens but I would've bought it anyway - and not regretted it. It's still a damn fine action game, it just isn't quite as involved as it first seems.

RE4 - still can't get enough (4th play on regular, 5-1 on pro, beat Ada, working on Merc missions)
Gaiden - I pretty much have a constant game of this going
Oddworld - halfway through, losing (lost) interest for the most part
GTA:SA - started a new game after renting Menace II Society last week

GTA: San Andreas- I had dropped this because I became OBSESSED with POP:Sands of Time but since I finished that, this is back in the loop.

007: Everything or Nothing- I haven't played this for a few days but it's been fun going. I wish the Q spiderbots I'm using on the level right after I save Piefuckers Girlfriend had a weapon of some sort.

I feel bad that I haven't touched my new Gamecube games for weeks. The poor little box much feel neglected.

If you're talking about the mansion, you're supposed to detonate the Q Spider as a distraction so the stairway will be clear when you get in through the attic.

I just got a Gamecube, so my rotation contains a lot of older games, but here it is nonetheless:

I just busted out Wipeout 3. Exactly as fun as it was 5 years ago. This is one of my favorite series ever. Fusion is awesome, too.

Resident Evil 4 has been beaten. Going through the bonus stuff right now.

Metroid Prime 2 is about to be beaten. I'm near the end, at the stupid treasure hunt. Loving the final suit and the screw attack.

I'm about to head to the game store. I'll be grabbing Rid Dick PC, and searching for old PS1 stuff like Wipeout XL, Vagrant Story, Xenogears, or FF Collection+Chrono Trigger.

Halo2 - I am still so addicted to online play that any spare moment I get (and I do mean spare) I jump online and play

RE4 - When I do pry myself away from H2, I play this. Dust off that Gamecube and start playing, gravedigger!

World of Warcraft. That's it. I'm not even playing it all that much. I'm just too busy for videogames right now.

Just picked up NCAA 2005 again, and damned if I'm not kicking it's ass on the All-American mode. I may have to move up to Heisman now. I've been playing Madden 2005 on All-Pro religiously for the last month or so, and I think it's improved my skils so much on NCAA that I'm actually overrunning plays on defense. In other words, I get there so quick, I actually miss the ball carrier sometimes. I played #5 UM last night (using #13 UGA), and beat them down 30-0 (could've been worse, but I missed an XP because I slipped when I pressed the kick button, and I fumbled 4 FUCKING TIMES inside UM's 25). They had -15 yards of total offense, mostly due to me sacking their QB 13 times for -65 yards. My LE (who I played almost exclusively) had 9 sacks alone. Still having issues throwing the ball, though. That is the toughest damn thing to do on the new NCAA. My QB will either lead the guy way too much, or I'll drop it right in the WRs hands, and he'll drop it.

KOTORII(PC) - lots of fun once you can fix the stop motion animation effect it can have on ati cards

Half-Life 2 - Going through it for the third time now, stepping up the difficulty each time. Had to start low as Im no god to fps.

Far Cry - Getting outright owned by the AI(see above) but enjoying the view!

Battle for Middle-Earth - Finally something Im actually good at. Great single player game and consistantly challening multi-player

SSX3(PS2) - For when I just wanna kick back and mess around, this is easily my most played PS2 game. Too bad the online match up system is always empty since its getting old or it would get even more play.

Resident Evil 4 - Going through for the third time with the Chicogo Typewriter and having a blast.

KOTOR II - Just made myself a Lightsaber so let the fun begain... whenever I get around to playing it again.

Ninja Gaiden - Going to give the final push and finish this game this week.

Counter Strike (Xbox) - Always good to pass the time.

KOTOR II (PC) - I love this game. The writing is some of the best I've seen in a game and it makes me forgive the lack of new features compared to the first.

Resident Evil 4 - Yep.

Sid Meier's Pirates! - First go through and I'm ready to retire having saved every relative, found every lost city, and done everything on the little progress chart. (on the hardest level! ...hey, first time I've ever done anything like that)

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines - Getting back to this one and finishing up the ass end of it.

Simcity 4 - I must learn how to manage a virtual city before I die.

KOTOR 2 - I'm sorry, but helping the Ithorians on Peragus has been boring the crap out of me, but I did just get to Nar Shadaa. Now helping the refugees is boring the crap out of me. Not being Revan kinda sucks.

Since I have many games, many games that I've only barely played, I decided to go in alphabetacal order, system wise, until I beat whatever game. Thusly...

Burnout 3 (XBOX) I will beat this bitch. Or at least get all the cars. Or start crying.
Eternal Darkness (GC) So close to the end.
Beyond Good and Evil (PS2) About 3/4 through, still dig it.

Riddick(xbox)... Lost in the mines, I keep going in circles, then dying, then going in circles again. Luckily I have my friend's save file still, so when I get sick of the mines I hop in the mech and fuck shit up for a while.
Resident Evil 4(gc)... slowly working on my second game, trying to get some good save spots to show the game off to friends. Pondering playing the remake and 0 again, but I'm afraid they'll flat out suck now.
Wings of War(xbox)... Not the greatest game ever made, a little too arcade-like for it's own good, but I'm having fun with it.
Halo 2(xbox)... Finally got a system link, and it's like a new game now. No LIVE for me sadly.
Timesplitters 2(gc)... decided to dust this off and sketch out a few of my best maps on graph paper, to be remade in Timesplitters 3. I can't wait.
Mercenaries(xbox)... I rented this, and I'm not that big a fan. It's GTA + Freedom Fighters, but it's not as fun as either. I mean it's not a bad game, but I don't understand why it gets so much love. The airstrikes that take out buildings are cool, but way too expensive. I've gotten all the spade cards, and was hoping for a new location to open up, it didn't. Will new locations EVER become available, or am I stuck with this map?

I JUST finished Halo 2. At least I think I did. I'm not convinced it's over. And before that, KOTOR II, so I'm looking for an anus-punching anti-climax trifecta.

STILL playing Star Wars Battlefront on line. I've got a serious damn problem. Been up until 4:00 AM playing sometimes.

Halo 2 - I'm still playing this way too much. I think I average about 4 hours every day online.

I'm also starting to get back into Baldur's Gate II and Morrowind and am loving them. (Morrowind because of the Morrowind discussion in the Fable thread which reminded me how sweet it is) I've never beaten either game and doubt I will ever beat Morrowind. Unfortunately, Morrowind rapes my Xbox making it more difficult to play Halo online until 4 in the morning, so I may stop playing that.

Actually, yeah. Why do you ask? Does it get un-fun later?

I just wanna say how much I love this thread title. It sounds less a question about video games than a parent going on at his kid after they come home at three in the morning. Great stuff.

I thought iit was pretty fun all the way through, but maybe it was just me. I certainly have a love hate relationship with the "old school" stages though, some of those are a serious pain in the ass. It's no Mario 64/Super Mario Bros. 3, but I still got a lot of fun out of that game.

Wario Ware: Touched- Great but, like the first one, you can beat it in one sitting and it becomes pick up and play rather fast. But I love the use of the DS.

Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snake- First play of these games. Story is pretty out there and laughable, but also damn iconic and fun. I'm pretty much plaing it for the Kitamura cut scenes, but it is fun.

Resident Evil 4-I'm stuck.

GTA vice city - compleated it on the pc, i think i prefer the ps2 version though. About half way through

Smackdown here comes the pain - created myself as a wrestler and im working my way through the season mode. Its easlly the best wreslting game ive played.

Fifa 2003 - i like that you can by and sell players on this and the football games themselves are easy to pick up.

Yeah, the camera angles on the later "old school" levels make those levels nigh-impossible. And when you get to the point that you need to do the "get 8 red coins for the shine" levels in order to advance, the game turns into a tedious chore very quickly. But that's just my opinion. There are a lot of really fun levels but the last few hours of gameplay ruined it for me.

I don't know how others feel about this, but I preferred the Kojima-directed cut scenes by far, from what I saw. Kitamura appeared to take everything way over the top, I guess to make it his own. (For example, a backwards leap in one by Kojima translated into something like a quadruple backflip for Kitamura.)

No, I'd call that a fact. 5-7 hours in (about halfway through) the game just goes sour when you realize it's just gonna be this kind of repetition for the next half of the game.

Disappointing on its own terms. Downright shameful considering it's a Mario game.

Riddick (xbox) - just completed - loved it, but wished I got more time with the big guns.
Ninja Gaiden (xbox) - keep getting wasted, disheartened, then come back to it after a month and progress a level or two, fall in love with it again... until I get wasted, disheartened...
GTA SA (ps2) - slowly moving through... can easily lose days at a time playing this.

Got Xmen legends and Onimusha 3 waiting on the sidelines, but am too busy to get to them... which sucks hard.

Ninja Gaiden (thanks Tony Ryan) and it's kicking my ass... Repeatedly.

If you just got a PS2, pick up any of the Ratchet and Clank games. In my opinion, the best 3-D platformers ever and THE reason to own a PS2. I'd play them in order though, because if you start with the third, the first might just seem boring.

I'm currently dividing my game time between Psi-ops, Ratchet and Clank 3, and World of Warcraft. I don't like to stretch myself between too many games, but next I got MGS3 and the first Prince of Persia.
