Red Dead Redemption has been occupying my free time, although I'm trying to play Super SFIV sparingly.

Re: Breath of Death VII

I don't know how the makers haven't gotten sued. Nothing to do with the quality of a game I haven't played, but a lot of the graphics seem to be straight rips off of Dragon Warrior. Like identical mountains, trees, etc.

Just got NO MORE HEROES 2 off Goozex last night, and had some fun with it. I got my ass handed to me by the second boss on the medium difficulty, though, so I must consider myself some sort of girly-girl for the week, I suppose. Whatever the case, it's more of the same, and I love it.

ALSO, SMG2 arrived via UPS today, so now I've got the two best Wii games of the year calling to me at the same time. Hopefully no one gets jealous.

Oh, and I think I totally wrapped up the water planet in KOTOR (PC) over the weekend. On to the next one!

The game is a pretty obvious parody, though whether or not identical sprites could be justified as part of a parody, I don't know.

Best dollar for dollar I'll ever spend on a videogame, ever. Fucking retro-parody-awesomeness. Like playing an old school RPG without any of the boring hang-ups that old school RPGs had.

Play it in hard mode.
Yeah seems a bit iffy, but who's going to go after them really. I doubt they're making a fortune(although I've been surprised with the money iPhone apps have been making...).

Oh speaking of the Indie games on LIVE...

Can you play the full versions when your system is offline? I really want to buy a few but my 360 isn't connected to the internet at home. None of the indie game demos I've downloaded in the past will play when I'm not connected to LIVE.
All my other demos and LIVE arcade games play fine offline, like they should.

Spent a weekend playing Modnation Racers. I must've spent as much time racing as I did making a disgusting zombie and a blood-splatted lawn mower for him to drive around in.
You can do that? Didn't realize the 'modding' was that robust.

I've read the AI in single player is pretty brutal. What's your experience been?

There isn't much you can't make with the tools they give you. They have alot of good pre-made items/patterns/materials to add onto the cars and racers, and you can layer up stickers and modify items until they look like what you want.

And, yes, the AI in the single player is complete bullshit. It's not so tough that you can't make it to the next race with a couple tries, but it seems like luck plays about as evenly as skill. No matter how well I do, I've usually got two or three other racers right behind me, and that makes for some really cheap shit when you get down to the last stretch.

The online racing completely saves it because the core racing mechanics are good. The karts handle well, the weapons/power-ups are balanced, and the tracks are fun. Once you put some actual humans in the game, it comes together nicely.

Red Dead Redemption - Finished. Sweet fiery revenge was exacted upon the folk encountered on the last stranger mission.

Modnation Racers - I need a fast internet connection to enjoy this bastard and see how my tracks compare to other folk.

Green Day RB - Anemic offerings presentation wise. Over expensive track pack that should have costed as much as the AC/DC pack. Would it have killed them to 3d'ize some of their videos for some variety while performing? Also there's no reason why some tracks have to be censored.

Lego Rock Band - Keeps going and going and going...maybe one day I'll nab that Final Countdown solo.

Next up on my plate: Alan Wake...

I bought Oblivion from Steam for 8.50€. I already had the game but this includes all of the DLC (yes even horse armor) in a single automatically patched package so I figured "why the hell not?" And now I'm modding the fuck out of it. Seriously, the stuff people have made for this is mind-blowingly impressive. Models, textures, lighting, UI, everything is updated. If all goes to plan it will end up looking as good as Crysis.

I'm revisting Left 4 Dead 2 to try out some of the mutations. Got the Tank Burger achievement playing Four Swords (no horde, just swords and special infected). I'm glad I didn't sell this back because it's pulling me back in again.

It's great how they do that huh..I'll revisit this game ever so often then try and wonder why I stopped playing it!

Right now I'm still playing the Star Craft 2 beta. I still get my ass handed to me in mulitplayer but I'm learning.
Right now I'm dabbling in Dragon Quest IX on the DS after trying to focus on Spirit Tracks. I'm finding both to be very enjoyable. On the consoles I'm fussing with God of War III, Red Dead Redemption, Fable 2, Call of Duty: World at War (got it for $7!), Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, and trying to resist the urge to pick up Dragon Age again, not that I ever finished it in the first place.

My attention span? I seem to have misplaced it... again.

Lost Odyssey on 360, Chrono Trigger on DS

Thank Christ for the summer lull.

Madden 11 - Achievement whore nirvana, a loaner from a coworker. Don't think I have the time to do all the Madden Moments, some of them are challenging. The interface is bad with too much focus on microtransactions. When I boot up a game let me just hop into quickplay by default. Game modes is at the near bottom of the list where it belongs, because who buys (borrow in my case) a game to enjoy the gameplay anymore. Gameflow is irritating and had to turn that off after being forced way too many times into running a bad play...and I don't even know football all that well, but know some of the suggested plays would be a waste of a down.

Assassins Creed 2 - Poisoning the street buskers should be more hilarious. They should use their guitars in the violent ends, but they don't and that disappointed me. An addicting game that still makes me queasy when I climb some of the higher structures and jump off them.

Monday Night Combat - I think mediumdave is the only guy on my friends list playing this. It's not a bad game, but if you're already enjoying TF2 there's no reason to abandon it.

Valkyria Chronicles 2 Demo - Wow, it made a pretty decent move from the ps3 to psp. Can't wait for the full game.

Just got Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 and ModNation Racers from Gamefly.
Honestly, I've been playing a good bit of Halo 3 (getting ready for Reach next month). In addition, I downloaded Castlevania: Harmony of Despair and like it alot.
SCOTT PILGRIM vs THE WORLD: THE GAME has seen a lot of love recently. I also just downloaded a classic NES game by the name of IKARI WARRIORS and I'd forgotten how much fun it was. Good times.
Headless Fett, Ikari Warriors is indeed...Awesome! You should check out the sequel...Victory Road! Early SNK, games are terrific.
Just been more Dead Rising in preparation for number 2, and Skate 3 still here and there.
Until I can afford all the fun games I've been missing..
OH yeah, I also downloaded LIMBO, I liked it a bunch, I would have appreciated slightly more story explanation somehow.. and maybe a bit longer, I beat it pretty quick.
Bought a new PC in preparation for getting a new degree, and one of the first things I did, perhaps unwisely, was get a Steam account. I've only picked up Plants vs. Zombies so far, but dear lord if that isn't a time suck. Since this is the first PC I've owned in a while, I've also become unreasonably obsessed with X-Wing Alliance for some reason, but I haven't tracked down a used copy of it yet. Not even sure how well it will run on 64 bit OS7.

Oh, if someone is looking to borrow a PS3 copy of Red Dead Redemption for a couple months, shoot me a PM. Having a hard time finding a large enough chunk of play time right now to get too invested.
So I'm finally about to start playing Dead Space....I've put it off until now, but felt I should finally play the game because of what everyone has said about it. Its on its way from Gamefly.
I...Attempted, to play the 2 pack of...GunbladeNY/LA Machine Guns, for the Wii, and I couldn't work the controls, at all. No classic controller support? No...Lightgun? Horrible, control system, for 2 such...Awesome games! Oh well.
I'm finally playing The Force Unleashed eight years after it came out, and it's fun. I had super high expectations for the game before it was released, but the collective opinion seemed lackluster so I waited to pick up the Sith Edition for twenty bucks. It's a little clunky but I really like it.

Three of my four favorite XBOX franchises are releasing sequels (or prequels) within six weeks of each other; Halo: Reach, Dead Rising 2 and Fable III. Along with more Borderlands and Mass Effect 2 DLC the next month or so is going to be great.
Going to be playing Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions much later tonight.

Hopefully, it's better than the shit stain that was Mafia II.
Just got Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and Tom Clancy's Hawx 2 from Gamefly. So I'll be playing those a lot.
Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. Loving it so far, but kinda pissed off the characters move so very slowly. The fact that I'm simultaneously blowing through Symphony of the Night on the PSP isn't helping, either.

Between those two, Wipeout Pure has also gotten way more of my time than I'm sure is healthy.
Bayonetta is pretty much owning me right now. Fun game, puzzling at times, then its like, oh, yeah, got it. Always playing COD Modern Warfare 2, Grand Theft Auto Episodes from Liberty City, Replaying Tomb Raider Underworld and Saints Row 2. The last two GTA games just dont seem to be up to par with the Saints Row games in my opinion. Like to find someone online to co-op Saints Row 2.
I've been replaying a few of the older games on my shelf lately, trying to get a few more achievements out of them. I finally got the Elite license in Burnout Paradise, and the pause menu informs me that I have put more than 72 hours into that game now. I guess you could say that I like it. I am also replaying Shadow Complex, grinding my character's level to 50. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it the first time around.

Finally, I've been trying to mop up the last few combat challenge rooms in Arkham Asylum. If I'm lucky, I'll be able to max out the three challenges I have left before Reach next week. However, history would suggest that I will never get to that point (damned Shock & Awe room!!).
Kicking it really old school with GTA San Andrais.

Also very addicted to the Texas Holdem Poker game on my Blackberry.
Halo 3 multiplayer

also downloaded Castlevania SOTN. Man, that game is still awesome.

NHL '11

You have to unlock/pay for each boost slot now and still unlock/pay for all the actual boosts on top of that. Fucking EA gouging, even playing with 4 skilled friends who all blew thousands of MS points boosting their pro's, we were getting crushed by people who apparently spent a lot more money on a lot more points cards and just skated circles around us at the midnight release of the game.

FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU
I love...Batman The Brave And The Bold, but, there is one...caveat. You must use the...Nunchuck. The Classic Controller is not used, despite the fact it would have been...Perfect for this game.

Disheartening, because I'm going out to pick this up now. EA's getting real shifty with this kind of business (similarly in Madden). Drives me nuts.

GET READY TO LAUGH! Madden 07. It was cheap, and I've never played a Madden game before.

How cheap? 99 cents.

99 cents is a freakin great deal in my opinion.

Finished GTA: the Lost and the Damned a few weeks ago and was really underwhelmed, not sure why it was reviewed so well. The Ballad of Gay Tony is almost a polar opposite though, it's so much more fun. Really loving this one. I still have some complaints with the GTAIV system of doing things, but tBoGT has fixed most of the problems.

Other than that, been playing Scott Pilgrim, Dead Rising: Case Zero, and more Castle Crashers with friends.

If you have some interest in sports games, but don't care about up to date rosters, this is a good way to go. I've bought several out of date(but current gen) and dirt cheap NBA and NHL games over the years and had a great deal of fun with them.

Really with you on that. I like both bits of DLC, but I wasn't fond of the asthetic of The Lost and Damned and I found the dourness of the storyline felt like more of the same. Gay Tony felt like a genuine departure in tone from the main game.

Currently:
  • readying up my second playthrough of Mass Effect 2
  • doing post-game stuff in FFXIII
  • Working on some Burnout: Paradise stuff
  • Playing through Crackdown 2

Of course that all changes on Tuesday.

I've been in an FPS mood lately. Sometimes it's just fun to shoot stuff. But of all the game sI have that are yet unplayed I have found myself going back to 2 of the rare games that I have actually finished... FEAR 2 (360) and Killzone 2 (PS3). Digging both, yet again. Killzone 2 was definitely an odd duck of a game for me though. Initial impressions were terrible, despite the good looks, but I kept at it and adjusted and warmed up to it. I'm still VERY warm on it. FEAR 2 on the other hand, was always a hoot, and still is.

I'm sure this shooter twitch is related to Reach being imminent... or not.

On the handheld front, Dragon Quest IX on the DS is still a charming blast to play.
Finally busted out my copy of Uncharted 2 over the weekend. Man, what a fantastic game. Beat it after playing it non-stop for a day and a half. Immediately wanted to jump right back into it with the perks and a higher difficulty setting. Really a very polished fun mix of platforming, puzzles and gun combat. Seriously, if you own a PS3 you owe it to yourself to play this game. Naughty Dog has been a favorite developer of mine since the old PS1 days and while I had some problems with Uncharted 1, the sequel is nearly flawless.

NHL 11 - My experience with EASHL is terrible. It's cool to just randomly play with a guy and be in sync. What sucks is the just awful networking code or servers...I can't finish a damn online game without experiencing a divergence or losing connection.

HUT is just a cashgrab for people's money. The salary cap kind of ruins it for me. The demo leads you to believe otherwise - that you could have an uberteam filled with the likes of Toews, Chara, Kane, Luongo, Hall/Seguin. You can't exactly do that and compete in half of the offline/online tournaments. You settle on a few marquee players and try make the most out of the alternate league players...which means trading/buying for the consumable upgrade cards.

Be A Pro feels more solid this year. Due in part to the slower pace of the game and improved checking. Bummed that my guy got picked 1st overall by the Flames. Think I'll restart and choose the Canucks this weekend.
NHL 11 has been sucking up so much of my time. Really need to get into the deeper modes of the game instead of jumping into quick play.
It's been at least several weeks since I last set hands on a controller (perhaps even a month or two, I'm not certain), but I am convinced that *tonight* is the night I should make my long awaited return to New Austin and invest some time in RDR. I just finished up RIDE WITH THE DEVIL, and it left me in the mood for a western adventure. I have a FIVE HOUR ENERGY to help keep me alert on trail, lest I fall victim to rustlers and vagabonds, and so I think it's time I saddled up and set out for the horizon. Wish me luck!
