I have Metroid Prime Trilogy, MadWorld, Twilight Princess, Shadows of the Damned, Crysis 2, the Saint's Row Double Pack, Alpha Protocol, and Rayman Origins sitting next to my 360, waiting for attention.

And what do I keep going back to? Fucking Mass Effect 1.

Goddammit, i love this series.

I just 100%ed Lost Odyssey and am thinking of going back to ME as well. It's either that or finally finish off FF13.

Playing Dragon Age: Origins right now and boy is the learning curve steep on this.   Having never played a PC RPG before, it's taking some getting used to.   Especially coming off an RPG Lite like Fable 3.   I'm sticking with it because people on this board seem to love it but man is it not so friendly to newbs like myself.   And so far, I'm getting a LARP/Renaisance Fair vibe from the voice acting so far.   Like i said, going to give it time but it's a little intimidating at first blush.

Mass Effect 2 - Save file got lost in multiple system transfers since finishing it originally. I forget how much ore I really need to upgrade my ship...so I've been spending too much time scanning for planetary boners. At least I can make a run at the huge ton of dlc I missed (shadow broker, kasumi, etc).

LOTR War in the North - Finished. I sat there at the end wondering wtf, seriously? You get delivered news about the Fellowship - the timing/scale of events taking place doesn't add up. The more I played it the clunkier it got, occasionally at times being bashed through the geometry forcing a level restart. It wasn't that bad though, it was a decent coop romp for me and the wife.

Shadowgun - ios Generic of War. Looks alright, performs alright; but you got to be kidding me if this is a reason people should go run out and buy one of the newer Transformer Prime tablets. I do hope soonish you can pick up and play a nice Skyrim sized rpg on a tablet or the Vita.

Tiny Tower - That whole thing with zynga copy/pasting this game prompted me to try it out, free why not. Just mindless mindlessness. There's no game there. It's just an excuse to milk in-game purchases from unsuspecting parents.

Mario Kart 7 - It's now an unwritten rule that if you pick that Wahu Island level in local coop you will get a punch to the face.

Fallout New Vegas - I think I fucked up. I went gun crazy after travelleing to Zion. Multiple quest failed messages popped up after the ambush was finished.

I agree, but for me it's the tactics in the party combat. Too often - even though I've got the tactics set to "attack nearest visible" - I see my tank running away from combat and ranged characters running towards the danger. And I really hate having to pause every three seconds and reissue orders. Reminds me why I love turn-based games so much.

If you're having problems with the difficulty of DA:O's combat, research the RPG term Alpha Strike on the internet. In short, it means pre-loading your combat strategy with your heaviest hitting attacks. It is going to make most of the non set-piece, non ambush combat much easier.

Dark Souls. I've played about 160 hours and almost got all the trophies. And I haven't even tried half of all the weapons and armors, or played very much online. Fantastic game.

Fired up my 1+ year-old sealed copy of DC Universe only to be prompted by 15 GB install and the need to clear out a huge part of my drive. Mandatory installs... ugh.

Starhawk beta. A lot of fun especially if you're playing with people that work together. Probably one of the most competitive games I've ever played. Day one purchase for me.

Judge Dredd on the ps2. Fun for a while, but gets repetive very fast.

Hope they make a new Dredd game based on the upcoming film.

Recently occured to me that, at the time of GTA: San Adreas's initial PS2 release, I had gotten maybe 20 hours in for the few days before my daughter was born.  Thus the only moderm (since GTA III) Grand Theft Auto game I didn't manage to complete.  Saw it was available on XBoxLive a few weeks ago for 800 points, figured what the hell.

It is far harder than I remembered it, or GTA IV, being.  Also, huge.  However, it is a whole bunch of fun.

Playing the first "Dead Rising" and having very mixed feelings about it....

Pros:

1.  Capcom built what's possibly the best engine for a zombie sandbox game I've ever seen.   There's literally hundreds of zombies on the screen at one time and no slowdown..

2.   I dig how Japanese the game is from the cheesy music in the flyover scene to character animations to even the NPCs speaking with text only.   It's a nice throwback to the PS1 days.

3.   The combat is solid and I love the weapons you can use in the game.   Favorite so far is the Katana.  Second favorite for some reason is the parasol.   Don't ask me why.

4.  The sense of humor is so Japanese and I love it.

Cons:

1.   The 72 Hour time structure feels inspired but ends up really limiting the potential this game had.   Capcom built this amazing sandbox to play in but punishes you for wanting to screw around and not pay attention to the main storyline.    And if you miss one story based mission, forget about playing the rest of the game.  You have to start over.   This really does feel like a fatal flaw in the game.   This game would have been perfect if you could just fuck around for a while, grind for XP and then continue the story at your leisure similar to the Rockstar Sandbox titles.

2.   Related to point #1.   The game is only beatable if you "Groundhog Day" your character.   This means leveling up, dying and carrying over your stats to a new game.   How about no time limit, I accrue XP in a more organic way and only have to experience those horrible cut scenes once?

3.   "Hi this is Otis.   I'ma gonna let you get back to killing zombies but first I want to say that there's this thing I saw on the monitor that you should investigate."   Easily one of the most annoying things about the game.   You're fighting hoards of zombies and your phone rings over and over again.   Answer the call and you can no longer fight zombies, miss the call and get call back after call back.   So annoying.

It sucks but I probably won't finish this game and it's not because the gameplay is bad but because Capcom hates me for not playing the game in a linear fashion.   Does the sequel fare better because I want to love this series and can't.

Risen - Been sitting on my steam backlog for a year now. Fired it up on the weekend. I like the douchey attitude my guy has with the local natives. Game is clunky as fuck though, combat is just as unwieldy as trying to score a penalty shot in NHL 12, trying adjust to the camera and weapon range. Spent about 5 hours and I'm still a hobo with only a good shield and average starting sword, no armor yet. Just wrapping up the swamp bandit camp, felt good laying some smackdown on Borgar. If I can I'll try to finish this before Amalur, but if not it'll be awhile.

NHL 12 - Jesus it took a long time to make it to the big leagues. Should be thankful I wasn't drafted by the Oilers, got nabbed by Florida. Which should give me a slight chance of making my way to Vancouver via trade or signing, considering they've traditionally done deals in the past. Thought the Gretzky videos would be more substantial, and so far the Mario Lemieux 1st Shift/Shot/Goal challenged is glitched. Can always count on EA's subpar QA team to not do their jobs thoroughly.

SNES on my PSP - Just so much more ergonomic to futz around with ChronoTrigger and Zelda than it is on my ds. Surprised you don't need to use custom firmware with the SNES9x Euphoria app...been ages since I've used my psp.

I made Arch Mage of the Mages College and I'm taking a break. I'm going to finish New Vegas real quick and start buying some DLC. I feel the need to kill some Deathclaws with my .50 Cal Sniper Rifle.

Playing a little bit of Dead Island on the PS3.  It's not perfect, but holy cow is it fun.  So much more so than I expected.  FUN dangit!!!

SWTOR. Lots of SWTOR. However, I dipped back into Mass Effect 2 tonight to finish up the DLC with my main. Did Kasumi, will tackle Arrival tomorrow night and he'll be ready for ME3. Then I'll probably spend the next few weeks playing through ME2 with my FemShep, mixed in with yet more SWTOR, until ME3 comes out.

So basically, I might as well have 'Property of Bioware' branded on my arse for the next 2-3 months.

Just finished Halo Anniversary. All the parts that made me furious before made me furious again, but with better graphics.

So, on to the next thing...

I was never on the Mass Effect train, but just yielded to pressure and borrowed 1 and 2 from a friend (remember when you could borrow games?).

Popped in ME1 thinking I'd check out the opening cinematic and the creation process...BAM, three hours later.

Gotta admit, it's good fun. I'm FemShep and playing nice so far.

So I finally went back to Uncharted 3 this weekend and pushed through the part I had been stuck on.  A couple of hours later, and I was finished with the game.  I have to say that there are some great moments in that game and some moments that are so completely frustrating and annoying that it almost cancels out the good stuff.  I can't count the number of times yesterday where I would go through a bunch of enemies only to get one-shotted by some asshole with a grenade launcher hidden in a corner of a rooftop out of sight, thus forcing me to restart the checkpoint and have to kill all those enemies again.

I think the thing that bugs me the most about Uncharted 3 is the combat AI got fucked up when it comes to letting the game work well.  You've got a cover system, but it is useless most of the time because enemies will run straight up to you or appear behind you all the time. You've got a very powerful melee system, but it can become useless because you get shot in the back by an enemy that wasn't there a second ago when you started with the fisticuffs.  You can't immediately back out, so by the time you're finished with the fisticuffs, you are either dead or very near it.  You can run and gun, but you aren't very accurate shooting that way, so running around prolongs even the simplest of gunfights.  None of these things seem to work as well together as they did in the previous games, so there were a ton of situations that got rather frustrating.

Then again, there are also sections like chasing the convoy through the desert canyons that brought a huge grin to my face, so I can't hate the game.  Uncharted 3 is still very good, but Uncharted 2 remains the better game in my eyes.

I still can't stop playing Skyrim.  I got Arkham City for Christmas and have barely touched it.  I wanted to pick up The Old Republic, and Mass Effect 3 is coming up.  But more than likely I will keep on with Skyrim for probably another 100 or so hours.  With the creation kit coming out (hopefully) tomorrow there will probably be a ton of new mods out for it better than the ones right now.

I'm mixing it up right now between running my paragon Declan Shepard through his paces in my Mass Effect 2 replay and bringing down demonic tentacly guido death as Jackie Estacado in The Darkness.

Space Marine, Fuck Yeah! - Friends picked it up on the weekend sale and I've been reminded how fun this fucking game is doing that horde mode stuff. I hope the Warhammer devs are able to survive the turmoil THQ is going through right now.

Risen - Just walkabouting the island. I found myself annoyed when I came across a vein of gold and I had a pick axe in hand. Instead of being able to smash at it, the island tells me go find a trainer...don't tell me what I can't do! It's not long before I remember there was a girl who came to the island with me; I wonder what she's up to these days.

NHL 12 - Nothing more satisfying that the crunchy noise Lucic made as I smashed him into the boards and he writhed around on the ice like a new born baby. It's a damn shame they took out bleeding injured players, a god damned shame.

Everything on my plate will be taking a backseat to Darkness/Amalur come tomorrow afternoon when I get off work early. Except making taking some time to re-wrapup ME2, maybe.

After playing the Dead Rising DLC "Case Zero", I went ahead and bought Dead Rising 2 and it's night and day compared to its predecessor.   All the things I complained about in the first one were fixed and it feels a little more fair this go around.   One of my favorite things to do is go around, collect survivors, and create a murder gang before taking on a boss.   So much fun.

Played the hell out of Skyrim when it came out, now I go back here and there. Played through LBP2 and inFAMOUS 2 when I got my PS3 now I'm playing through the first ones of each thanks to the friends profile exploit.

Played through Mass Effect 2, enjoyed it a bunch, looking forward to 3, hoping the actually show you Tali's face, bedded the alien for nothing in this one.

Just beat Shadow of the Colossus again in the HD rerelease. I really like having trophies in the game, it makes it feel like you're doing things correctly instead of being kind of blind with collectibles and secret areas.

Bought The Force Unleashed II and MGS4, bet TFU, enjoyed it, only part way through MGS4, I have mgs2 on Xbox but didn't play it much, mgs4 feels less clunky which is nice.

Arkham City was great fun, been going back into that periodically to tie things up in new game +.

Only played a little Dead Island, but liked what I played a bunch, just found myself getting fucked pretty hard by some groups, hoping to find a friend for some co-op some time to ease the pain a little.

Also still need to finish Saints Row: The Third, been enjoying the insanity of it all, also looking for some co-op mayhem in that.

Anybody feels up for playing anything add me away, Tigeroovy

Been digging through Arkham City and wow... totally blows any expectations I had away.  I've remained spoiler-free by staying the hell out of the B:AA thread, but damn is there so much shit to do in the game..  I feel like I play for an hour and get little-to-no story done.  Thoroughly enjoying myself though.

Been playing Final Fantasy 13-2. I'm a sucker for time travel stories so while I thought 13 was decent, this ones a lot better. That plus the fact they fixed most issues I had with the first like being able to change your party leader in a fight and also not getting a game over if your party leader dies. It's a bit on the easy side but it's fun and it might keep me until ME3 comes out, I'm at the last boss and while he's a sonuvabitch, I'm not going to mind exploring the other timelines, alternate/paradox endings and so forth. They've stated they'll release a decent amount of DLC for it and I'm hoping they'll do storyline dlc as the time travel makes it rather easy to do so.

Invasion of Mudds or something - Next great use of 3d since Pushmo. Nothing revolutionary, that one Mario RPG (Thousand Year Door or Paper Mario?) had the ability to hop in and out of the depth planes. Just an eye pleasing game with collect everything ocd platforming.

Super Mario Crossover 2 - And So Can You! Lost some hours to this bugger once more. Didn't read any of the instructions and was surprised you could switch to alternate costumes on the character selection screen. Nintendo really needs to hire this guy and release this on their e-shop. At least they haven't ceased and desisted this guy into oblivion.

Strangers Wrath HD - Love this game. Love the visual upgrade it got. Industry could take notes from this game and deliver something other than another standard military shooter filled with Famas/SCAR weaponry set in generic middle-eastern warzone 3. Of course this is more of a third person romp inline with Insomniac's Ratchet and Clank games...I'd also pay lots of money for another MDK game.

Found a copy of Gears Of War 3 at a closing Blockbuster.

God, what a dull slog of a game.  Looking at my console history, I haven't played GOW2 since winter 08.  That should have been a hint not to even bother with part 3.

Amen, brother. I'm the odd man out in my town who hates GOW. Couldn't stand any of the single-player, and whn it comes to multi player I'm Halo or GTFO.

I picked up Bulletstorm on the cheap from Gamestop and I'm finding it to be more of a slog than Gears somehow. Never saw that coming.

Resident Evil 5. Theres a lot I like about this game, but it's just not....satisfying.

I just plowed through "The Orange Box" and "Portal 2" (love that Wheatley!), and they were all a great deal of fun.

Now, I've never played a "Halo" game, so I purchased the remake of 1, 3, ODST, and Reach......hopefully they live up to my expectations and I don't regret blind buying 4 games....

Soul Calibur 5 - Finished the story mode. Pretty fucking awful. Shouldn't be surprised that a fighting game can't carry a narrative, but folk I've talked to were impressed with what last years Fight Night tried to do. Gameplay wise I can't get into it. I think I'm more use to Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. That when you try do a series of combo's you're not flailing away at air because your characters range of attack is so short. Even the other characters who have a wider reach, I still find myself flailing at nothing, and then the ai decides to deplete 3/4th of my health with some ginormous combo while I can middle out a 2 hitter from time to time.

Q.U.B.E. - Picked up on playing this some more. Still genuinely satisfying at times when you work out whatever room you're in. There have been no press releases or announcements over how successful his game is, but I hope the developers are seeing some profit so they can do something else as a follow-up.

No One Lives Forever 2 - Fired this up on my older computer that I dug out of my garage. What the hell happened Monolith? You go from this fine gem to a generally meh Gotham City Imposters...They have a decent stable of ip to resurrect now that they are done with F.E.A.R. I'd love a return to the series especially in light of the resurgence of Deus Ex last year, hell even American McGee got to bring back Alice...

Still playing Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.  I've put in about 30 hours into this and most of that has been being like Kane in Kung Fu.   Travel the countryside and get into adventures.   The main story is a slow burn and getting better but helping out folks and ridding the land of bandits is so much fun.   Aside from that, I've become obsessed with blacksmithing and creating weapons.    This is definitely one of those sleeper games with tremendous value.   Even 30 hours in, I think I'm closer to the start than the end.

The SSX demo is available today. I had a blast with it.  Unlike most demos, I think I'm going to keep it installed on my system for a while, at least until I get the full game.

I'm still sharing time between The Darkness and my Mass Effect 2 replay. While ordering my Mass Effect 3 CE the other day I grabbed Bioshock and Dead Rising 2 on the cheap as well. I'm gonna be game-busy for a while now.

I finally put Skyrim aside (of course now that a new Nvidia driver has come out supposedly improving the graphics some 40% or so) and just got into Arkham City.  I have had it sitting around since Christmas, only touching it a couple of times, but now I'm just focusing on that.  I think when I finish that I'll either start The Old Republic of Portal 2.

I was playing through Batman: Arkham City until my fat PS3 died.  Since I've had the console repaired/replaced I've been slowly trudging my way through what I've already played.  Have Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception just waiting to be played.  Would love to get (spoiler free) thoughts on that title.

I thought Uncharted 3 was disappointing. It was still a fun game with some nice to great moments, but nowhere near as good as 2 or even 1. I just felt the story was the weakest yet, and wasn't even as funny as the past 2 were. So in my opinion, SOLID but not great like the first two.

Finished the Deaus Ex: Human Revolution DLC; absolutely thrilling, and i was amazed by how much freedom and choices of gameplay the whole thing gave you; loved the boss fight, which i managed to win without killing anyone and even got an achievement for sucker punching the boss.

Also, god dammit, the big moral choice in the story was fantastic.

See I've gone in the exact opposite direction, starting off a bit coolly but after playing some of the new DLC and getting back into the swing, I may be enjoying this playthrough more than my original one. I've still got The Darkness as my back up player for when I want half an hour of run and gun, and then Syndicate will fill that void nicely when that's done with.

But really, it's all about taking Shepard all the way to the end of his epic journey at this stage for me. My replay of 2 is going to lead straight into 3.

I'm installing SW:TOR right now.  Maybe I'll go back to Mass Effect a bit later.  I played 1 on the XBox and 2 on the PC, so the saves didn't carry over for me.  Maybe when I do go back to it I'll start at 1, then do all three on the same platform, carrying over my saves.  Perhaps by the time I get around to doing that I can get the third one for pretty cheap.  I do have to say that I did enjoy playing as a female Shepard for a bit on that second playthrough.

Gee, I really need to replay Mass Effect 2 and finish Skyrim. Come to think of it, I need to finish Dragon Age 2, as well. I should get on that...

But no, I'll just play Planescape AGAIN.

Just finished "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning".   No great shakes in the storytelling department but the gameplay, leveling system, and other stuff was top notch.   As the OP in that thread said, it's like Fable and Dragon Age Origins had a baby.   Anyway, next on the list is a game apparently everyone has played except for me.   Mass Effect.   I know I'm bound to be disappointed in that one given all the hype it's gotten on here :)

Just started playing ME 2 (ME 1 seems to be sold out everywhere) and I have to say it lives up to the hype.   Aside from feeling like I missed alot of major shit in the first one, I'm enjoying the experience and thanks to CHUD, I'm starting right out the gate with a FemShep Renegade.    I don't think I can play as Male Shep after this.   Jennifer Hale is so good in this role.
