Hellraiser: Deader & Hellraiser: Hellworld release

Finally, Hellraiser 7 & 8 are available for pre-order on Amazon.com!

Deader is out June 7, and Hellworld in September 6 - same dates apply for Prophecy 4: Uprising and Prophecy 5: Forsaken, respectively.

Deader:

Hellworld:

A good year for Doug Bradley then, who appears in Deader, Hellworld AND Uprising! And he's shooting Urbane this June/July too!

Doug Bradley also recorded an audio commentary for DEADER with director Rick Bota. FX man Gary Tunnicliffe also made a short Hellraiser film with himself appearing as Pinhead called "No More Souls" and this is expected to appear on one of the discs as an extra feature. No word on a commentary for HELLWORLD as yet.

Let's hope Dimension sticks to these dates (which have been verified by various sources including Blockbuster).

The Prophecy 4 & 5?
Wow!

I didnt' even know that they were making that many sequels.
Although, I doubt we are lucky enough to have them star Christopher Walken.
Are we?

Hellraiser 1= A perverse and ultimately flawed masterpiece which I think is one of the greatest British horror films since Hammer.

Hellraiser 2= Another flawed masterpiece, which despite some bad sections is a truly worthy sequel that expands the mythis.

Hellraiser 3= Very flawed, but saved by some nice features such as human pinhead and the church set piece.

Hellraiser 4+= All horribly made and decidely shitty movies that confirm that Doug Bradley would happily do anything to get a paycheck and that Hollywood is capable of turning what was originally an exploration of the darkside of humanity into a cheap and tacky set of monster flicks.

The only real exception is number 5 which is more an Angel Heart knock off than anything else.

So until I see a Hellraiser movie either greenlighted with a budget big enough to explore leviathan and hell, or a movie that Clive Barker is involved in, I will not be getting excited about incoming sequels.

Hellraiser 1: Great
Hellraiser 2:Good
Hellraiser 3: Barely Ok
Hellraiser 4 Shit.
Hellraiser 5.Ok
Hellraiser 6 Plus: the kind of shit that gives Horror movies a bad name,
As Raiftel says, unless something changes avoid future Hell Raiser films like the plague.

The last few Hellraiser sequels have been really crap.
The folks who own the Hellraiser franchise should get down on their knees and beg Clive Barker to come back.

ok im i don't remember 4-6.
Was 5 in outerspace? I know the outerspace one was really good, told the history of the box and the bloodline.

the prophecy rocked.

Interested in the Hellraiser films, even though they probably won't be any good. I love the first two, and like 3 and 5. Could have done without 4 and 6.

I could really care less about the two Prophecy ones. I like the first one, but the second didn't really do anything for me and I never bothered to watch the third one.

I'm leery of the two Prophecy sequels. Prophecy III: The Ascent wrapped things up pretty well.

And the last two Hellraiser sequels were very enjoyable, and definitely in the vein of Clive Barker's short stories. They were both better than 3 and 4.

I agree. I really don't understand some of the die-hard Hellraiser fans. While I enjoy Part 3 (and 4 to a certain degree), it almost turned Pinhead into a Freddy clone. Hell On Earth is a fun romp, but it tried to change Pinhead's character too much. He's not supposed to be some power mad demon destroying everything in sight. When Part 5 returned him to the supporting role that he always had in the first two (you know the classic ones?), they bitched constantly 'cause he wasn't on screen every five seconds. Inferno is closer in tone to the originals than 3&4 are. At it's core, the Hellraiser series is not about Pinhead or the Cenobites. It is about how evil the human characters/society is in general. The Cenobites are only there to punish the human "monsters" (and occasionally those dumb enough to play with the box). The Cenobites are but minions of hell, only henchmen if you will. Humanity is the real villain of the franchise.

I heard that Lance Henricksen is in one of the new Hellraiser films, that´s cool but i thought that after AVP he´d be able to stay away from straight-to-video films.

Techincally he's abided by that, at least to my knowledge. Both of those Hellraiser films were made before AVP. Oh, and he's in the Hellworld one.

I hoped after AVP that he'd stop using the Christopher Walken model of just taking the money without reading the script.

I love Walken's excuse for this....................something along the lines of "I don't have any kids or any hobbies, and I get tired of sitting around the house, so I'd rather just work all the time."

So basically, he does it because he's bored.
