"There is no such thing as random in infinity."

Is that bullshit or not? Anyone studying Chaos Theory or Cosmology?

It's the whole Infinite monkeys argument. When constraints are lifted to include an infinite set of circumstances, not only is anything possible, but everything is probable. Given a long enough timeline, with an infinite amount of variables, everything will happen at somepoint/place or another.

The laws of physics don't change, or if current ideas hold water, don't change a whole lot. Some things aren't possible. If it's possible, then given an infinite amount of time and circumstances it's bound to happen sometime, somewhere. But such conditions don't exist anyway.

I don't know if "there is no such thing as random in infinity" has a lot of meaning. Infinity isn't something you can be in. It's like saying "there is no such thing as orange in psychiatry". Psychiatry has nothing to do with colours, and infinity has nothing to do with patterns.

True. But the statement regards random, not possible. The most important part of this statement is the definition of random, not infinity.

I think travishall456 stated it quite nicely.

I have a thought...why is it that toilet seats in public restrooms and most hotels are "U" shaped, but my toilet seat at home is "O" shaped? What's the deal with that gap?
