Mezco's Hellboy the Comic line

It's a weird feeling when your dream toy line comes true. This is relatively old news, but I thought I'd pass it along to folks who don't know about it--

Mezco (the guys who did the Hellboy movie toys) are doing a line of figures based off of Mignola's style, true to the comic. The first series, which will most likely be out sometime this year, will consist of Hellboy, Liz Sherman, Lobster Johnson, and Mecha Ape w/ von Krupt's head.

Mezco has posted a couple shadowy pics of the Hellboy and Lobster Johnson figures in "The Boiler Room" section of their website, www.mezcotoyz.com , but you have to register to see them. I haven't been able to find downloadable versions so far, but trust me, everything seems to be leading up to pure toy genius.

Sorry for being such a cocktease.

I seem to remember the Big Blast/Graffiti Hellboy being pretty close to the comic book version. Or was that just Big Blast's style that was close to the original?

The only problem I had with their version was that I thought the red was a little too dark. The Mezco versions are smaller and feature more detail (their Hellboy has those little Mignola-style marks, or scars, on him, like in the comic).

Have you tried using Print Screen, pasting into an editing program and cropping the images out? That usually works if you can't right-click and save. Or check your browser cache.

Thanks...not sure why I didn't think of that before. Too much goat-sex, I guess.

Here's the shadowy Lobster Johnson image Mezco posted...I'll try to dig up the Hellboy one...

Those are pretty fricking sweet. I prefer the comics to the movie, and Ive wanting a Hellboy figure for a long time. This is just the ticket!

Okay, here's more dirt on the Hellboy line...

"This dynamic toy line, based on Mike Mignola's Hellboy comic book, is due in stores late this summer. In an exclusive arrangement with Lee Publications, Mezco Toyz has agreed to unveil the complete line, along with an in-depth chronicling of the development of the basic figure assortment, exclusives, and line extensions, in the pages of Lee's Toy Review. This cover feature will appear in the July issue, No. 152, slated to hit newsstands the first week of July."

AND a full pic of HB himself. Bad-ass.

I like it. I may pick it up. Does he not come with a jacket?
