FUCK! I just got through the DVD, seeing them for the first time. The action, dialogue and visuals are better than anything achieved in any of the movies to date. These stunning pieces of animation are enough for me to consider Lucas's prequel universe an overall success. I also appreciate Episodes 1 and 2 immeasureably more now. Absolutely amazing stuff.

Too bad every other decent line in the OT has been repeated twice over. Genndy's overdoing it.

I'm with those who think it's great. In fact, this may have been mentioned in this thread, or the other thread, but I'm basically looking at Clone Wars as another Star Wars movie. I had not seen the first run in segments, so, even though there are some odd cuts in Clone Wars Vol. 1, it flows together just fine for me. When Vol. II comes out on DVD, if it's not joined together with the first one, I will join it together to have one big complete 2+ hours Star Wars animated movie. I'm sure that wasn't their intention, but it works for me. I didn't need a lot of story development, just LOTS of action...and that's what it was, and so is this new season.

I have no idea what this Star Wars television show is supposed to be about, if it even happens, but I have to say, give this Clone Wars director a shot at an hour long Star Wars show. He can't do any worse then the prequals, and these Clone Wars cartoons show he has a very good feel for the Star Wars universe, at least in my opinion. So, many, myself included, have always clamored for more Star Wars movies. When this new season comes out on DVD I will have one - Star Wars: Episode 2.5 - The Clone Wars!

Am I too much of a geek??

Ripping off OT-lines is considered "genius"? Wow, have some fucking standards, man.

If we go by the events in ch. 25, didn´t the head Separatist die with all the other scientists? Then he can´t have been Wat himself. If he didn´t escape in a ship off-screen, that is.

Same here. And if future shows keep up the quality (maybe even raising it), I´ll lump them in with the movies as well.

Uh, it's not a "rip-off" but an obvious homage... and one that's more of a neat foreshadow (it's technically the same character) than anything else. I wouldn't call it "genius", either. But it was certainly cool and pretty clever.

They did get a little carried away with the lines in the first 2-3 chapters of Volume II, however. But I still dig Anakin's uttering of "Impressive. Most impressive." Neat stuff.

The DVD was great. I would like more storyline...action is great, but action in the the realm of more developed story would rock. Loved the animation and the significant lack of commericals.

Makes me almost wish Episode III was in this format.

Well, they could have kept it to one or two quick lines in the entirety of the series.

I´ll give you that one, it worked for me because the setting and tone was completely different than in the film.
