House of the Dead vs. FearDotCom

I know... lots of people on these boards seem to think House of the Dead is the worst movie ever...

I finally broke down and watched it with my wife last night.

Was it bad? Yes.
Was it inept? Yes.
Did it make me want to kick Uwe Boll is the crotch? Yes.
Was it worse than FearDotCom? No.

So, come on CHUD, don't give Uwe Boll the glory he wants so badly. Admit that FearDotCom is worse.

Ok I admit it if only because HOD had some great gore and the main female lead had incredible breasts. And because FearDotCom contains not even ONE second of anything resembling fun or suspense.

Everything he said is true.

I have to go with Feardotcom. You guys have your reasons for liking HOD, I have mine(Stephen Dorff) for like Feardotcom.

Now that you mention it...I guess you have a point. Damn you, kfmb!

Both of them are liquid shit.

But......Fear.Dot.Com had some good production values, so I'll go with that. (that's all I could come up with)

I liked FearDotCom.

I never saw Fear, but I just recently saw HOTD......and I fucking loved it! I mean, it's a terrible movie, don't get me wrong, but I love it in that bad movie way, like I love Torque. Just a movie to get drunk and laugh at. And HOTD is one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. Hell, I even want to give Uwe Boll a hug now for entertaining me so much. Anyone who has such a pure, deep down hatred of the film is taking it way too seriously, and not watching it in the right state of mind. Drunk.

Artistically, FearDotCom comes out on top. It's at least mediocre while HoD is enough to make a movie love either scream or laugh their ass off (I did the latter.)

But as far as entertainment goes? House of the Dead is the undisputable champion. Every awful moment was a blast, it was more fun than most good movies I see. FearDotCom is the definition of mediocrity, it doesn't have one entertaining moment to redeem itself.

Sorry FearDotCom was better.

Stephen Dorff plus a solid plot (well...bout as solid as the ring anyway) and minus the bollshit.

FearDotCom was crap and seriously tried to be suspenseful, scary and well-acted. It sucked at that, just like 13 Ghosts, or Ghost Ship. Even more so, FearDotCom gave me nothing. Ghost Ship at least had a good opener while 13 Ghosts had some cool, well, ghosts and the Shannon Elizabeth/pre-Scooby Matthew Lillard.

HOTD was a crap and knew it. One of the best popcorn movies I've ever seen, highly entertaining. Even better than Rambo 3, Speed 2 or Tomb Raider 2.

SAW makes both look like high art. Piece of awful fucking shit SAW is.

I would also add Wes Craven's "Cursed" to the list. What the hell was that?

I wish it were so.....

Sadly Uwe Boll is delusional and seriously thinks he's mking great movies, having read interviews with him and with people who worked with him I can only guess that the guy is actually insane.

I have to agree with you here, Scarecrow...

Also, look at the dialogue in HOTD vs FDC...

Ok, so the dialogue was bad in both... but at least in HOTD it was actually things people might have plausibly said, or it was over the top silly:
"Shoot them!"
"What do you think I'm trying to do you fucking moron!"
(or something to that effect)

But in FDC... dear god, when I saw that movie with a couple of friends, the lines just didn't make any sense. I'm pretty sure they were written by someone with no understanding of logic and a bad sense of grammar, and possibly they weren't allowed to read the lines before and after the lines they wrote. Maybe it was a long game of MADLIB style screenwriting action by a group of 2nd graders.

To all you skeptics, go back and watch FDC again. You shall be converted.

I haven't seen either, but I couldn't understand why FDC wasn't fear.com. I assume it was because the name was already taken for another site, but even that made me not want to see it. I definitely remember the movie site was feardotcom.com - I don't know why, but the redundancy pissed me off. If they're not even smart enough to come up with a title that fits an original .com site (since that was obviously their point), they shouldn't be allowed to continue breathing. Has anyone checked out fear.com? I bet that site got the majority of the movie's intended traffic anyway.

Well, I haven't seen FEARDOTCOM, but it has a real actor in it (Stephen Rea), so it can't be worse than HOUSE OF THE DEAD.
