Expressing a dissenting opinion isn't "pissing in everybody else's cereal".

But why go into a thread about something you dislike for the sole purpose of expressing that opinion to those who do like it? Why not just leave well enough alone? For example, I don't go into threads about Adam Sandler movies because I don't like them, and I don't feel the need to waste time telling people that DO like them that I don't like them. Sure, every now and then I'll talk about stuff I don't like, but I don't specifically go out of my way to tell fans of something that what they like isn't good. I know it's a free country and all and people are free to express their opinions, but sometimes (especially on internet message boards) it just comes across as bitching. That's where I was coming from.

By the way, Helix, your sig cracks me up.

Because it's a free in-tro-net, and he's got the right. I think the game looks good, but it's not something I'm busting my nuts over here. It's always nice to see some skepticism, even some pessimism, mixed with the unbridled cock-licking.

Well, it looks like we're just going to have to agree to disagree on a couple topics here. Personally I think wasting one's time bitching about things is just that...a waste of time (of course, posting on MBs period is a waste of time, but that's neither here nor there). And I did concede that it is a free country, and everyone has the right to express their opinion. Anyway, I'm taking myself out of this conversation now, and getting back to work. I hope there are no hard feelings.

I almost started a thread myself about the new trailer, as it was fairly big gaming news. I was looking forward to seeing more footage. But after watching the trailer, I was underwhelmed, and decided not to start a new thread. Then I noticed this thread (which wasn't easy, because the thread title is mind-rape), and figured I'd post my opinion about the new trailer.

I didn't realize this thread was reserved only for people who want to heap love upon Zelda. I was laboring under the delusion that we have these message boards to discuss our opinions about games and game-related news. But now I understand that not being totally and completely enthralled by a subject and stating thusly is equal to "bitching" and "going out of my way just to rain on people's parades".

From now on, I will only join threads on subjects that I love with every fiber of my being, and stop wasting everyone's time.

So no, no hard feelings.

I'm back just to say that I liked what I saw, I'm sorry it didn't float your boat, and I'm REALLY sorry that my comment upset everyone so badly.

We're just giving ya a hard time, Wookie. No harm, no foul. I often feel the same way in the Star Wars threads when the inevitable prequel bashing starts. I just try to save my ire for the people who are truly asshole-ic about it, and not the folks just stating their honest opinions.

Having watched the trailer a few more times I can start to get people' point actually. The material on show isn't actually that special or really interesting, it is just designed to get the zelda fans all erect and ready to buy the product. I find it exciting as I found the original games exciting, but other than the kittens, ghost and goron boxing I found nothing that outstanding in the trailer....

But I will still buy this game as even the shittest Zelda (damn you Adventure of Link) had some redeemable features....

The only thing I would disagree is Agent Back Smith's comments as the new look Zelda actually looks like a next gen opriximation of OoT and Majora's Mask while WW was a next gen update of LTTP and the original Zelda games (I think it is part of the same story arc right??). So yes I do like the new look not because of the ultra realism, I particuallry liked the Ghibli like animation in WW, but because it fits better thematically.

For fuck sake's that is the epitomy of someone who has their head up their own ass. So us fans can't be excited without being some sort of squealing nintendo bitch....and you are the one true voice of reason... normally I respect your opinion but that seemed exceptionally arrogant for you...
