Should I download those drivers regardless of which Nvidia model I have? Or is it for a specific card....?

NVIDIA drivers really don't work that way anymore. They are not for specific models. As long as your card is in the GeForce catagory of models, you can get these. But your OS comes into play as well. The link Jacob provided is for WINXP/2000 machines. If you have 98 or something else, go to the NVIDIA home page and navigate from there.

I've been a longtime ATI Radeon fan because most of my graphics-intensive applications for my PC have been HTPC or full motion video related. But everything I've been hearing about the latest Nvidia cards is tempting me to make a switch when I build a new 64-bit rig in a couple of months. Jacob and Jubei, what Nvidia cards are you using?

During the last generation of graphics card I was all about the Radeons.

But this time around I couldn't be happier with my GeForce 6800. While the X800s aren't bad I really feel that ATI dropped the ball this time around. The 6800 OC is an awesome card for the cash, though its probably a tad outdated. If you're looking at the midranged priced cards check out some of the newer 6600s, they really seem like excellent cards especially the stuff BFG offers.

Get an SLI equipped motherboard with two 6600gts and don't worry about ATI.

When I bought my computer almost 2 years ago, I had the ATI 9700 Pro installed. It crapped out after only 4 months. It took me a while to get the money, but I finally replaced it with an Nvidia 5900XT. With the ATI crapping out on me, I just couldn't trust their stuff again. Now the 5900XT isn't quite powerful enough for the latest games, but if you are not into games the 5900XT is good enough. I plan on upgrading again soon, and I think I'll stick with Nvidia.
