CLONE WARS: VOLUME II Discussion - Page 4

For my money, Volume 2 was a lot better than Volume 1, largely just because of the extra length of the episodes.

Woohoo! Just saw chapter 21 tonight! Loved the bit with Anakin getting knighted. Why wasn't this shit in AOTC?

Loved the escape from Grievous, that guys supercool. They're playing the rest of the series this week so I have something to watch after working on my film at uni! Finally. Ah, Star Wars. Welcome back.

And is it just me, or is cartoon Padme pretty damn hot for a drawing? Sexier than poor old Nats has been sadly. Just me is it? I'll get me coat.

Anyone know when the next installment of Volume II is due (episodes 26-30)? I can't find any references on CartoonNetwork and they seem to have taken down episodes 21-25.

I was under the impression that was it -- Chapter 25 basically leads into the movie.

There are no Chapters 26-30. That's it. Chapter 25 ends literally just before the movie begins.

There will, however, be more Star Wars 'toons in the future from the same creative team behind "Clone Wars". Stay tuned.

Wait, so Mace finds that one Jedi tied up, the Emperor has been kidnapped and Anakin has another new hand and a taste for vengeance. I've tried to stay spoiler free on Ep III (other than the trailers), but am a little surprised that we are to find that the Emperor was kidnapped prior to the events of Ep III.

Well, that's how it starts. It's not really a spoiler, because it happens before the movie. In fact, the Opening Crawl will basically give a high-level account of the events that transpired in Chapter 25 (and the end of "Labyrinth of Evil"), which is that Grievous and the Separatists have staged a daring siege above Coruscant and that Palpatine has been kidnapped... Obi-Wan and Anakin fly to the rescue in their Jedi Starfighters. Begin movie.

Why? He's been pulling all the strings since the beginning of TPM. This is where his End Game comes into play.

Thanks, Carl. It just seemed that the Emperor getting kidnapped by Grievous would have been very cool to see on screen (which, now I have done thanks to this series). I would have been somewhat disappointed had I not tuned in. Are we like a month away now?

Off topic but my 4 year old boy has seen the other movies and is asking whether we'll catch the next one in the theaters. I'm all for the PG-13, but that's making my parental movie-going decisions all the more difficult.

I'm wondering how violent/gruesome its actually gonna be too. More than the skeletons in ANH? I doubt it. I was quite surprised at how brutal Grievous was in chapter 20 with the Jedi, but thats only because the prequels have been so tame. I think there will be alot of killing in ROTS, but I doubt it will be bloody. Just depressing

I think they made good use of actually being the title crawl of III and even down to the different design of Anakin's hand (with the black and gold), showing his potential for machine work... makes me wish for a creepy younger anakin who feels the need to control everything with his technological ability-- it would have made for a great subplot. sigh.

and does anybody know if they're gonna make the emperor Anakin's father? faked immaculate conception? now That's pg-13!

The next installment is out on May 19. No TV for this, they're taking this one straight to the theatres. But it might not be as good, I hear there's a different creative team behind the next few chapters.

Seriously, these animated shorts have gotten me more pumped for Episode III than the other two prequel movies have so far. I'm looking forward to ROTS almost as much as I was for Ep. I.

You best make sure you post plenty of spoiler warning, lest you find me pissed off on your doorstep one day!!!

Damn! I just caught my first episode of this series (the episode where Palpatine is kidnapped). I can't believe the level of quality ... I really can't. This is the first time in a long, long time I've been engrossed in non-videogame Star Wars related story. Anakin was actually likeable, Kenobi seemed more like an instructor and less like a parent itching to send his kid to boarding school, the nod to the original trilogy actually served the narrative ( you have to love that nod to the cave trial from ESB ... damn), and we were finally given a glimpse of Anakin's ability that was more instructive than watching him dive out of moving vehicles. These guys should have written and produced the storyboards for the PT.

I've heard that they are going to continue this in addition to making a live action series. I've heard that the live action is going to be kind of like Young Indy with an old Luke recounting the period of the story between III and IV. What are they going to do with this?

I had never seen the final episode of Volume II the first time around, and I was amazed. When those mutated aliens saw Anakin with his missing arm and tore their prosthetics off as well, and their reunion with their families -- it was genuinely moving.

I am definiteley a fan of CW and how they've impacted the SW canon, Volume II seemed a little Thundercats for some reason [not sure why] but that's not necessarily a bad thing. This will be a summer to remember as I live out the last year of my twenties.
