Horror library start-up kit.

Greetings, gorehounds. I've been wanting to start my own modest little horror library ever since I started hanging with my horror-geek buddy in High School. I've been a horror junkie for years now and I think now's the time to start making some choice purchases. I've been mucking around VideoScreams.com looking for some nice titles and I thought I'd start a thread here to see if there are any horror fans who could recommend some good gore flicks.

I'm into the older, grainer stuff like Bloodsucking Freaks. Some suggestions in this vein would be invaluable to me. Thanks!

"I Spit on Your Grave" is good if you like grain.

I spit on your Grave.... is that the one where a woman is repeatedly raped and thought dead only to return to exact sweet revenge? I'll put it on my list!

Bloodsucking Freaks is awesome. Mother's Day is cool too, and sort of similar to I Spit on Your Grave, but lighter. It's probably not on DVD though.

It makes "Kill Bill" look like "Rainbow Brite."

The "Evil Dead" flicks, "Re-Animator" and the original "Dawn of the Dead" should also be included in your library.

Hammer, Hammer, Hammer

Nothing says blood red like Horror of Dracula.

Or better, the pale landscapes of The Lost Continent!

Susperia would be worth your while.

Can't go wrong with some of Peter Jackson's first works.

Also Romero's Dead trilogy as well as some classic Fulchi.

Also, check out dvdcompare.net for release comparisons before purchasing. That's assuming you don't have a problem with playing different DVD regions.

Also, deepdiscountdvd.com always has some of the lowest prices and free shipping. Usually about once or twice a year they have a 20% off sale around Christmas.

Thanks for the website recommendations. By and large I prefer to collect VHS but I'll probably have some DVDs too. Is there something wrong with playing DVDs from different 'regions'? Is that a bootleg thing or something?
