I've been watching a lot of MMA lately, and this thread has motivated me to get out on the mat again. Although I did a lot of jiu jitsu in the 90s, I haven't been very active since about 2002. I had a lot of injuries pile up at the same time, and then I moved to a new place, away from all my training buddies. I started thinking about getting into it again last spring, and I've been working out pretty hard so that I can drag my old body around the mat without killing myself (a big plug to crossfit if anybody is looking for a way to get back into shape). I'm going to check out a couple of places this week--hope to be rolling again by the end of the month.
