Jaws the VIDEO GAME

Hey,
Just got my lil brother's EGM magazine and it has a preview of the new Jaws game for PS2 due out in August.

Here are some of the best parts:

"You only need to know 2 things about this killer-fish simulator to get hooked: you play as the man eating shark, and the game has a "Dismemberment Engine"."

"the Game will be chock-full of humans, sea creatures, boats, mini-subs..."

The game is set 30 yrs after the movie

Amity Island has been developed into a thriving industrialized city.

You become a wanted fish after you devour the son of a local CEO.

Think of it as Grand Theft Auto of the sea.

They did this a long time ago.

"Here lies the body of Old Mary Lee. Lived to the age of 103. 15 years she kept her viginity. Not a bad record for this vicinity."

Words can't really express how pumped I am for this game seeing as Jaws is my all-time favorite movie.

I'm getting this, there is no way I can't get it. I love games where you get to devour people!

What a ridiculous idea! I can't wait to play this for endless hours once it's released. "Think of it as Grand Theft Auto of the sea"? Say no more.

My uncle had that game when i was little. I played it alot, what was the point. It never seemed to go anywhere.

You just keep harpooning Jaws like a thousand times until you advance enough to try and spear him with the boat bow (meaning, yes, this is more of a JAWS THE REVENGE game). Then he sinks and you fly off into the sunset.

Yeah, I played long enough to beat it. I'm a busy guy.

Wow I remember playing Jaws on Nintendo. It took sometime but spearing Jaws with the boat's bow took sometime but I finally did it. This new game looks really cool. I saw that screen shot that you posted and I can't wait to get this game. Looks like hours and hours of fun. LOL

I hope you'll be able to eat innocent people and not just "villains."

I love the logo for that old-school game.

'Won't we get sued by Universal?'
'I've taken care of that, Bob. Behold --

SHARK JAWS"

@Fett LOL I didn't notice that till you mentioned it... that's frikin great!

I loved the old Nintendo Game, I played that game to death. What a wonderful childhood I had, spent staring at a glowing box. Ahhh the memories...

this game promises to be the Wario to Ecco the Dolphin's Mario. looks fairly shite.

One of the characters in Piranha actually plays the Jaws arace game at the beginning of the film.

I love how they advertise the SCUBA action, and the diver's realistic death screams.
