Star Trek: the most memorable sequence.

In my mind, nothing can top the final scenes of The Wrath of Khan. Ricardo Montalban chewing up the scenery aboard Reliant (if Shatner had met him on set, who would have eaten whom?); Spock ignoring McCoy’s orders and entering the radiation zone to save the crew; Kirk’s look of unheard of helplessness, the monotone Kirstie Alley counting down the seconds until detonation – all to the score of James Horner’s Genesis Countdown.

It’s nerve-jangling action of the highest order, IMO.

If only Europe had put out their Final Countdown song in time to be the icing on Wrath's cake...

"You Klingon bastards...you killed my son! Klingon bastards..."

TMP -- Kirk in the turbolift heading to the bridge, as he closes his eyes and you can see the joy on his face.

Khan -- The battle in the nebula. The first film I can recall that really explored the three-dimensional aspects of space combat.

Search -- The Bird of Prey de-cloaking and the face-off with the Enterprise

Voyage -- You know, not a single damn thing leaps to mind, and I've been thinking for a good ten minutes. There are good moments, but no really memorable sequences.

Frontier -- I still like the sequence where Kirk, Spock, and McCoy confront their individual pains. Lone bright spot in the whole film.

Country -- The explosion of Praxis and the shockwave hitting the Excelsior. Probably the best opening to any Trek film.

Generations -- The saucer crash

Contact -- The battle with the Borg cube, especially the arrival of the Enterprise

Insurrection -- The end credits

Nemesis -- Ditto

Movies-wise, the death of the Enterprise in SEARCH FOR SPOCK. To a kid, that was a WTF?!? moment of the highest order.

From the TV shows, the ending of 'All Good Things...' with Picard joining the poker game, and the end of DS9's 'A Call to Arms,' where Starfleet leaves the station.

Before the last episode I had only recently seen the first episode and it was pretty cool seeing how Picard whent from a very cold very strict guy to opening up to the crew. Just a really great episode.

I do love the first episode with the Borg and there was just not any fighting chance and they kept coming and coming.

I do think that ending sequence in Khan is the best 'old crew' movie moment.

For the Picard era, though, it has to be the scene in the ready room between Lily and Picard of "First Contact." If only the other 475+ minutes of NG movies could come within an iota of that, they all wouldn't have sucked so hard.

If you've had the good luck to see Khan in a crowded theatre, you know the best moment is when Enterprise rises up behind Reliant in the nebula.

Favorite moment from Voyage Home ? How about Spock's conversation with Sarek at the end? "Tell her... I feel fine."

The entire run of the original series!

TNG- Borg stuff, Final episode, yesterdays Enterprise and all the guest stars by Scotty, Sarek, Spock and McCoy.

DS9- The Visitor, Trials and Tribble-ations, the entire Federation/Dominon war, the final episode.

TMP- Kirk's first sight of the refitted Enterprise. While Goldsmith's magnificent score plays.

WOK- Spock telling Kirk he has no business being anything other than a Starship Captain, Kirk's awesome reply to Khan's request, (Audiences cheered in the theater when I saw this) Spock's death.

TSFS- Kirk's reply to Sarek when he askes him, why? he says, "If I hadn't it would have been my soul." Kirk's tricking of the klingon stooges by luring them over moments before Enterprise goes BOOM.

TVH- The final scene when the crew see a brand new Enterprise waiting for them.

TFF- Kirk has a great line. "I lost a brother once. I was lucky to get him back." The pain scens are great.

TUC- Spocks line, "Only Nixon can go to China."

STG- The entire opening act with Kirk's premature death. Saucer crash and Picards arc. Despite its holes, the flick holds up really well.

FC- Picard and Lilly's stuff. The opening space battle is good stuff too, although too short.

The rest can go screw.

im only going to do the films

TMP the bit where we see refitted enterprise - followed by the lights going on over the ship

TWOK Agree with the everyone on the whole nebula fight scene.

TSFS the enterprise crashing into the genisis planet

TVH The end where they see the new enterprise

TFF the campscenes - both beginning and end, honrabable mention to Sulu's "We are caught in a blizzard" bit

TUC The end bit with spocks "If i were human i belive i would respond, go to hell"

Gen - the saucer crashing followed by the planet blowing up

FC - The battle with the borg cube and Picards Moby Dick rant

Insur - Rikers insane space battle tatics

nothing good in the last one

I agree with most, but I'd like to defend Insurrection for a moment. I think it's a great story on par with the episode where picard lives a whole life as a simple villager and discovers shit about himself. I love the scenes where Picard seems to recall the death of his nephew (and the end of the Picards )as he looks towards the hope of love with that hippy chick. We rarely see Picard advance in this direction and I really enjoyed that this time. He took a stand to not just save a people from being Cortez-ed, but he wanted to finally allow himself to love. Not an easy thing considering who he is and after what we saw in that episode where Q lets him avoid the fight with the nausican and keep his heart, but become a pussy. We know he's a hard man, but here, he finally lets down his defenses.

Oh and another great moment is the episodes where Picard is captured and tortured by the cardasian intelligence dude who was trying to convince him he was seeing 4 lights in front of him when there were 5. As he's leaving, he turns back and screams "there are 4 lights!!" Badass.

Wow, that's a lot of geek moments I wouldn't have thought much of. My favorite moment of the Star Trek universe has to be the discovery that Vejer is Voyager. Either that, or the moment when the scale of the inside of the giant thing they fly into is revealed. That screams EPIC to me. I'm not much of a Trek guy, but I used to watch it with my dad. I wondered years later if they were going to explain the origin of the borg as related to Vejer, but I guess not. Missed opportunity, if you ask me.

I'm not a ST fan by any means, but I do remember seeing Wrath of Kahn in the theaters (I was 7, going on 8), and man what a fun ride. That movie kicks all sorts of ass, and without a doubt, the best that ST has to offer (IMO). I've seen the other movies, a lot of the original eps and some of the newer stuff, but none can hold a candle to WOK.

Horrible, horrible uniforms and Enterprise sets aside, I really like ST: TMP.

I second that!

TMP is really hard sci-fi. I too dig it. Even though the mid-section plods like a snail on thorazine, it's decent. If nothing else, just for that beautiful score.
