So, who's got their tickets already?

Don't even ask "Tickets to what". You all know what the fuck I'm talking about.

I've got mine: 12:01 a.m., May 19, Amstar Cinema 14, Anderson,SC

Who else has their tickets already? If so, which show and which theater?
Don't have them. Won't have them. I'll wait for the DVD. (Seriously.)

Everyone lining up like this after the previous experiences? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...

I guess not everyone has the same "experiences"

Tickets to what?

I'm getting mine tomorrow, not going to a midnight session though. I like seeing films in the evening, about 9, when there's less kids at the cinema. Thats when I went for the other 2 and the LOTR films. My sister and her boyf are going at midnight, good luck to them!
Regardless of how the film holds up in repeat viewings- like it's predecessors, the first time will be an experience.

12:01 am 5/19/05 Esquire Theater
As the date approaches I'm more inclined to blow a PTO day on BATMAN BEGINS. I'll probably try to catch SITH after work or over that weekend. Not currently in posession of tickets.
I think Star Wars is incredibly overrated, but these are about as big as event films get and the first showings are always an experience. No tickets yet, but I'll be there.

anyways, it seems people just want to hate this film just to hate it, it's the cool thing to do!

I got mine for 12:02 in Indianapolis

12:01, Fullerton,CA.

I'll be there...with a chair.

I'm seeing it at a press screening this Friday. I also have tickets for opening night but I might give them to someone else, depending on how much I like the film.

Midnight showing. Showcase Cinemas. Dayton, OH.

Bought them a couple weeks ago. They went online earlier that day and they sold out in an hour. I called the theater hoping there were tickets left, and felt like an idiot when the girl replied with "...the system shows we have, like, 100 left." DUH!

geek anxiety
I don't physically have the tickets yet, but I have them paid for, just need to pick them up. I went through alittle drama in getting them too. I checked with a bunch of people before hand, so 7 tickets were needed. Then, after the fact, 4 people bailed. Turns out I can cancel those though so all is well. Gonna cancel them all and I went and bought 3 tickets for a digital showing in manhattan on 5/21. THEN 2 who bailed are back in so I had to buy 2 more tickets. What a mess, but I'm stoked because...

I'm going to go see it at the Ziegfeld in Manhattan. I've never been there so it should be really exciting. I'm looking forward to it even more than I was before.

7-ish at the ArcLight on May 19th. Goddamn midnight showings sold out faster than the speed of thought.
I *was* going to see it in NYC, with the DLP and whatnot. Then it really hit home about this being the last one and all....and an unconscious tradition.....

According to my mother and father, the first movie they ever took me to was Jedi back in 83.....and from the 97 SEs on I have not seen one of these films on opening day without my mom in tow. And we've always gone to the same theater, Essex Green in West Orange, which I now coincidentally live a football field's length away from. So it's only right....I'll be going to a 7pm show May 19th at the Essex Green 9....with my mother.....and a lightsaber.
I'm going to see it on the 19th or 20th in the early afternoon. Schools are still in session. That lessens the chance some group of 13 year-olds will try and make themselves, rather than the movie, the center of attention. I've already read the screenplay, so it's not like I am in danger of having the plot spoiled before I have a chance to see it.

Just because I can relate and just because we all like one upping each other, here we go.

I'll try to make it quick. Didn't see Star Wars in any form or fashion until the SEs hit and when my mom took me to see them my sophmore year in highschool the movies hit like a ton of bricks you know, the typical Ewoks changed my life story. Anyway, ever since, I've seen every prequel with her no matter what. In '99 it was easy I was still at home and a senior in highschool so of course we went together just me and her to the 3:30am showing at the Continental(best theatre in denver), in '02 I was living it up in Orange County and come Star Wars time she hopped on a plane spending money she/we didn't have to make sure we saw it together , now, well now things are different I've moved eighties miles north and now I'm paying to flying her out here so we can see it together one last time.
Now that's a pretty cool story. My Mom is the greatest person on the planet but I haven't been to a theater with her since RUSSKIES.
12:05 a.m., Carmike 15, Columbus, Georgia. Actually I have the tickets 1-6 for the 608 seat theater, so that's kind of cool.

I saw both TPM and AOTC at midnight premieres and the movies were both great during those few hours. The excitement and the fellow fans and the anticipation makes it a fun time, even if the movie isn't great. I saw TPM with my entire family and a friend, saw AOTC with my brother and the same friend, and will be seeing this one with two of my brothers and three friends.

If anyone is going to Carmike 15 keep an eye out for me. I'll be in a Star Trek uniform (simply because I'm an asshole).

well, i ain't staying up 'till 2am to see it, but i've got my tics for the 1pm show on thur....of course, a week after i bought them for what was the best (picture/sound) theater in austin (gateway), a different theater announced that they were upgrading to digital projection for this movie, with all sorts of extras and giveaways...fuckers! oh well, it's not like i won't see it at least twice on the big screen no matter how bad it is....

by the way, anyone hear anything about extra scenes for the theaters showing it in digital (about 80 nationwide)? i've heard a rumor, but haven't been able to confirm it...

12:01 AM, Dutch Square General Cinemas in Columbia, SC.

Yeah, heard the same. I think it's a scene on Dagobah.

And I'm pissed that Houston doesn't have one goddamn digital projection screen.

I heard a bit about the possibility of a few extra scenes and little tidbits for the digital shows as well, in particular there was something involving Yoda, but I'm not sure what else. It won't be anything too extensive, but it's enough to get fans a little giddy. An extra beep or two from R2 might be enough to get some people excited. There were even some differences with Ep II. The one that really stood out for me was at the end during the wedding scene you got a good view of Anakin's robo hand in the digital screening that I didn't remember seeing in the film version.
I'm living life on the edge and not buying tickets until opening day.

Actually, I don't think the local theater sells tickets in advance. The 19th is my birthday anyway so I'll have the day off to get tickets as soon as the box office opens.
Tickets purchased:

12:00 noon May 19. Westwood, CA - Mann Village

Great theater, where they show a lot of big premieres. (I believe one of the charity showings will be there on the 12th.)

If you live in SoCal, I heartily recommend this theater. Great screen, sound, and fans. (still not digital, though)

Arclight Hollywood. Best theater in the world.

I'm tempted to get them for the midnight showing just so I can people watch.

But, good lord do I hate all the screaming and clapping that goes on during opening night. You know you're going to miss some dialogue everytime the guy in the Darth Maul make-up sees a character come on screen for the first time.

You have no idea. I saw AOTC midnight at Mann's Chinese and I had the luck of sitting directly in front of the vocal path of a raving fanatic who would SCREAM HIS BLOODY HEAD OFF everytime something cool happened or someone cool came on screen.

e.g. "Yeah, YODA!" "Count Dooku! YEAH!" "YEEEEEAAAAAAAH!!!!"

I swear to God I was this close to turning around and snatching out his adam's apple.

Tickets purchased for the 12:01 AM show at regal hollywood 24 in Atlanta.

I hear the 501st and some other rabid fans plan on lining up and hanging out all day. I hope we don't have to get there 6 hours ahead just to get a decent pair of seats.

The most annoying is when the Lucasfilm logo appears and everyone cheers...then the 20th Century Fanfare music starts and everyone cheers...then the Star Wars title and music starts and everyone screams bloody murder, etc.

I understand the reaction (sort of), but it still annoys.

All that I'm cool with, and even encourage. I hope my crowd is just like that.

After the crawl, though, EVERYONE SHUT THE FUCK UP.

That sucks considering we have no DLP in Vancouver.........

ESPECIALLY when we just got a new megaplex which opened downtown [Paramount Vancouver] which has DLp and according to FamousPlayers.com no midnight screening of Star Wars: Episode III.......I hope this is remedied but the lack of DLP seems stupid considering it's a new megaplex which they've touted as the big theatre for Vancouver and crammed it full of cafes and stuff.........of course it did open with 3 theatres playing xXx: SotU and only 2 commited to HHG2TG so they're still streamlining stuff but....point is.........I want DLP damn it........

Hope it plays Imax here...AotC on Imax was cool.

I do admit getting goosebumps when everyone is cheering, but usually they don't stop after that. Then the goosebumps get angry.

Oddly enough, R2 has always received the biggest cheers whenever he/she/it first appears.

One of my favorite audience reactions was at BNAT 5 for RETURN OF THE KING when the New Line logo came up and everyone cheered, then everyone went "Shhhhhh!" It was hilarious.

2 Tix, Ziegfeld Theater NYC (the only place to see a star wars film), 6pm, May 19th.

I would have went to the midnight showing, but I'll be at a U2 concert on the night of May 18th.

Talk about two great days of entertainment!!

Anyone know how many Digital theaters there are in Orange County, CA? I can only find one in Irvine but there's gotta be more, right?

I got mine about three weeks ago for the 12:01 midnight showing on the 18th. And I am going to see it at Cinemark Tinseltown in El Paso, Texas

reminds me of that Conan O'brien clip with Triumph vs. the Star Wars nerds. I have it on my desktop here at work, but the file is too big to e-mail. I think it can still be found on the net with relative ease. At the end a vulcan shows up with his expressionless face in tow flipping the bird to the fans. Good stuff. REALLY FUNNY overall.

Best theater in Manhattan. It's also where the infamous "Triumph meets Star Wars fans" took place.

I've had midnight tix to both Phantom and Attack as they were birthday gifts. Sith actually opens on my birthday this year, so I expect to get midnight tix to this film as well. Even though the films aren't the greatest in and of themselves, the experience of seeing them with die hard fans -- the excitement in the air, the theater laughing, clapping, cheering at the right moments -- made them special.

That's been my experience. As soon as the crawl is done, the theater is deadly silent -- like people are afraid if someone breathes too loud they'll miss the most important line in the film. Still it makes for good times.

Midnight, AMC at Pleasure Island, hopefully the digital screen.

I've been here a long time and I don't really have a good reason for not having been there yet, but oh well, probably has something to do with most of my movie going happening in Queens. Sounds really good. And I'm pretty sure that even on the first saturday the crowds will still be pretty fan filled so it should be an awesome experience. I've only been to a couple of movies where the fans were there in full force, and it's always been in Manhattan. I never got to experience a hardcore Star Wars crowd since I didn't see Ep I in Manhattan and didn't get to Episode II in the city until a few weeks in. X2 was awesome with the fans there though, and so were the Matrix sequels.

I figure seeing Episode III at the Ziegfeld on premier weekend is a pretty good wat to get introduced to the place. Yeah!
