Jamaica Mon

To be fair, you probably experienced airport purgatory. Not speedy, not very polite customs officials, but you still have your earthly possessions once you've returned home.

Jamaican airport hell is returning and finding about $4k in possessions gone. Beat out my personal best record, $2,400 worth of stuff gone on one trip from Panama.

Fantastic countries though. A Jamaican sunset is an experience every living person should have at least once in their lives. Until my first trip, I had no idea the sky could turn shades of purple.

Just thought I'd add to the general Jamaica-related lovefest. My wife & I had one of the best vacations ever down there. We'd planned to go to Peru, but it fell through at the last minute. My wife booked us tickets to Jamaica & our first night's stay. We rented a car & spent a week driving around the island, and loved every minute of it.

Ok, maybe we didn't love getting lost in Trenchtown so much, but you get the idea.

Totally. My friends and I watch the sunset while in the water at the beach. You feel as if you can reach out and touch the sun while its setting.

Just curious where you all went. I spent a week in Treasure Beach (http://www.treasurebeach.net/), which is a small, local village on the south coast. We hung out at local bars and the people were really nice and unbelievably generous. We had a friend drive to Negril to pick up some ganga and let me tell you that stuff was potent. One toke and I felt like I was on acid. Jamaican weed is way more powerful than anything I've had in America. There was a volleyball net on the beach behind our villa and we played with the local kids every night. It was a blast. I also spent 3 days in Kingston and hated every minute of it. It was crowded, overpriced, and the locals, especially at the airport, were very aggressive towards tourists. But they weren't hostile in any way. It was just overwhelming. It's crazy the amout of people who told me Jamaica was a horrible place to visit. I would recommend going there to anyone.
