what movies would you like to come to DVD

There are a lot of old Horror movies I have been waiting for to come to DVD. What movies on your list would you like to see come to DVD?
Mine:
Day of the Animals
Food of the Gods
Endless Descent
Blood Beach
Infra-Man (not really horror but still want it to come)
The Being
The Children
The Birds (not sure if that's on DVD yet have not seen it on the shelves)
They are making a DVD of the Children. Troma's releasing it - they already recorded commentary and everything.

I remember Blood Beach on the shelves of the local video store when I was a kid. The sand swallowed people, right? Was there something under the sand, or was the sand just evil?

I'd like to see Monster Squad and Brain Donors on DVD, personally.

Nice one. That's one of those movies that time has swallowed all traces of. Whenever I bring it up (which isn't very often), it's always amusing to watch a slow wave of recognition pass over the faces of whoever I'm talking to.

Don't forget Night of the Lepus! (sp?)
I liked that it was nodded to in The Matrix but i want to own it on dvd, along with food of the gods of course.

Blood beach was an 70's early 80's of Tremors. It was a giant worm that at people in the beach. It was kinda neat that the monster had a lair and stored it's half eaten bodies there.

Sweet! I just remember the cover that had the bikini lady waist deep in sand with her arms pleadingly outstretched.

I wish I had a lair...

guinea pig box set

I just saw the controversial japanese film guinea pig in a boxed set edition at best buy. Japanese horror is so beyond american pap. (especially in the less restrictive 1990's when exploitation cinema was at its peak in Japan. The only american films that stress pure gore today are independent videos like what you see at http://www.killersinthewoods.com

Hardware no longer appears to exist.... Dust Devil can be imported from Germany (as I did) but actually looks significantly worse than a taped from TV copy I have on VHS...also the DVD of Dust Devil is roughly 10 minutes shorter than any other cut and is minus the head pop....

So yeah I would love to see that released

I remember when I was a Kid i saw the movie "The Lift" and wanted to see that again but then I came across a couple nights ago "The Shaft" (no not a porn) with Naomi Watts in it. After watching it, I found this one better than the orginal. I know the shaft is out on DVD, and will pick that up soon.
Has anything by Paul Naschi been transfered to DVD? The guy pretty much did for werewolves in the 50s and 60s what Hammer did for vampires.
Yeah, Anchor Bay have released some of his stuff.

You're in luck, Class of 1984 was just released by Anchor Bay. I've been waiting for it for a while myself.

The Innocents
The Uninvited (Ray Miland)
Amazing Stories
More Night Gallery
The Night Stalker tv series (Original)

I'd be down for AUTOMATIC (starring Olivier Gruner in his finest performance!), TEENAGE BONNIE & KLEPTO CLYDE, THE MONSTER CLUB, and ... AT FIRST SIGHT (starring Jonathan Silverman and Dan Cortese).

Let me also throw in my support for the Paul Naschy/El Hombre Lobo films, as well as the '80s TV series WEREWOLF, which was damn fine for its time. My father strictly forbade me to watch it, so of course it was my favorite show as a child.

Thanks for the info. They need to do this in a high quality prestige series with docs. and everything. Somebody do something about this, it`s Paul Naschi, dammit! It has to be put in the hands of horror fans soon.

Original Versions of Star Wars IV, V and VI
post #40 of 58
I have a long list of things I'm dying to see on DVD (mostly horror stuff):

Phantasm II
Phantasm III
The Dark
The Children
The Manitou
House of Dark Shadows
This Island Earth
Killdozer
Beyond the Door
Food of the Gods
Night of the Lepus
The Boy Who Cried Werewolf
Mask of Fu Manchu
The Little Girl Who Lived Down the Lane
Future World
Day of the Triffids
KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park

I heard from Ed Havens of Troma (via email in back in January) that The Children is being released by Troma in spring, but summer is here and so far no news at all. Has anyone heard anything about a release date? Or are they just yankin' my chain?
This Island Earth is available on the MST3K DVD of the movie. One side they rip on, the other is just the movie.

PIRANHA 2 has been region two'd, and you can get both ALLIGATOR movies in a double-pack in the UK (in DTS ES no less!).

It's available in Canada, but unfortunately the only version I've seen around is the dreaded pan and scan.

If this was in the States, I would be more happy
post #46 of 58
all those old 70s TV horror movie classics like A Cold Night's Death, The Norliss Tapes, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, and The Legend of Lizzie Borden.

also, later TV movies e.g. Dark Night of the Scarecrow and Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County.
For all of you UK people looking for a decent copy of Dust Devil.... I have a partial solution...

It appears that the film is once again getting shown on FilmFour this morning, and the last time they showed it they used one of the cleanest prints I have ever seen....like digitally remastered style prints...so if you wanting a decent copy at least you might be able to get it at around 3.45 am tommorow morning...
I'm voting for:
The Burning - definately gotta be uncut
Student Bodies - this could be a fun one if done right
Maniac Cop series
Brain Dead - a full blown uncut uber edition

(guilty pleasures I'd like to see again)
Killer Party
Slaughter High
The Boogens
Scarecrows - from 1988 about the bank robbers
Dark Night of the Scarecrow

You guys mentioned already a lot of my top picks already (Alligator, Phantasm, Triffids, Food)
(that'll teach me for being late!)

Yep living in NY here, and wish Anchor Bay would send some of it's movies to us here. I might go on the website and see if I can buy some of the movies and have them shipped here. I saw that anchor bay released Razorback, and wanted that Aust. film enjoyed that one.
