Back in the 60's, Bill Cosby did a great routine about the New York Subway system in which he said:
"Not only do the Subway trains take you where you want to go and bring you back, but they go out of their way to entertain you. They put a Nut in every car".
Having, on vacation, spent a good deal of time on the London Underground, Cosby would greatly enjoy riding on the London Tube. SOme of what I saw on the trains makes the nut jobs out at Speakers' Corner at Hyde Park on Sunday Afternoon look postively like beacons of light and reason in comparasion.
One of the wierder sights My Wife and I saw there late on night, about a half hour before the station I was at closed, was a bunch of school kids in sleeping bags dressed in psuedo 1940's clothers taking sleeping bags down to the station. It seems there is a "Living History" program in which they try to show the kids what it was like to sleep in one of the stations during the Blitz.
