What do you guys think of this?
Lucas has said that he intends the series to be watched from I to VI, but I just can't imagine that that will be a satisfying viewing experience. Leaving aside the degradation in special effects, there's a sense of scale issue. Even Return of the Jedi, with the largest battle in the original trilogy, is dwarfed by the action in the prequels. Won't this create a problem in terms of buildup and let-down?
There's also the issue that the original trilogy set up little mysteries like "No, there is another". With all of the information up front, doesn't that just come across as playing coy with what the audience already knows? Personally, I think watching them in the order of release is much more satisfying. But then, I think that Revenge of the Sith is a much higher point on the scale than Return of the Jedi. One small Jar-Jar appearance at the end, and absolutely no muppets.
