Believe it or not but they actually used The Flintstones cartoon to advertise cigarettes!
Incredible, just imagine Fred Flintstone with lungcancer.

Well, the Flinstones were the first prime-time animated family.

Anyway, it's really funny because I had seen this a couple years ago and just happened to be telling someone about it earlier this week. Before now, I had only seen the first 30 seconds or so. So, not only were Fred and Barney promoting cigarettes but good ol' fashioned sexism to boot.

I have that whole commercial along with a shitton of other old TV ad's on a Beta tape. Crazy how times change.
