When this first came out people were really excited about it not to mention Keatons in it! But then people saw and came back with really negative reactions and that's when I lost all interest at all in seeing it. Then it hit DVD and I decided oh what the hell and I popped it in. I gotta say I really liked it and I really don't see where all the hate is coming from. Was it perfect? No But I still can't say it was anywhere near bad. I thought that the concept of a man watching a tv with bad reception and listening to bad mic feedback woyuld be boring but after watching the film I gotta say it was pretty atmospheric. It actually made me forget it was a pg-13 film and get sucked into it which is really rare for me. As a matter of fact im not really into ghost stories but this got me. I also heard some people comment on Michael Keaton's acting and I think he did just fine here. His kid? not so much but he really wasn't on screen that much. All in all I think it was a good movie that people really didn't turn out for. The box office wasn't that high was it?

I believe it outgrossed The Ring 2.

Well, that would make sense. White Noise was just mediocre, while The Ring 2 was so bad it could make your eyes bleed.

One of the few rare times I agree with a statement like that. Usually im all for a sequal to something even if it really doesn't need one because I figure if the sequal sucks oh well we always got the original. Just wished they had resisted the urge to have the voices whispering to the kid over the radio.

the only good thing about this is when me and my friends finished watching it a few nights before it was out. I was at my theater, the film had ended, and one of my friends who spooks easily was a little on edge. i went into the projection booth, dialed *67 then his cell phone number. I crinkled up some paper and said stupid shit like "eat more waffles" and other things to annoy him. He knew it was me when i got back, but was still a bit more spooked.
sad but true. oh the little things are what get me by.

Just got this for my birthday. I didn't get a chance to see it in the theater and am looking forward to watching it.
The trailer for this was one of the best I've seen in a while.
