Some crazy B horror movie called Devour.... weird shit I tell ya.
Ended up watching SUBMERGED, I wonder if the guy who dubs all of Seagal's lines gets as much money as he does.
Unleased, it was fuckin' great!

Swordsman 2. Simply an amazing film, it contains more imagination and vibrancy than most CGI blockbusters using practical effects and probably half the budget too.
Little Shop of Horrors. It's extremely campy, and I've seen it more times than I can count, but I still love it.

SUMMER SCHOOL, it may not have the serious moments of BREAKFAST CLUB or FAST TIMES but for $5.50 at Wal-Mart you can't go wrong. I love how they found a way to fit a hot exchange student into the class.

watched The Goonies while eating breakfast this morning.

Had not seen the film in quite some time. i was honestly a bit shocked at how well it actually held up. nice to see that some things i loved in my childhood don't confirm my suspicions that i might have had down syndrome when i was younger.

"Case of the Scorpion's Tail" and "I Heart Huckabees"
The Birds. Pretty cool, but man, what an abrupt ending.
Die Hard, the collector's edition.
Panic Room. Found it in the beloved $5.50 bin at WalMart a few days ago. Worth all 550 pennies.
Watched Before Sunset and the Cincinnati Kid tonight. Good times.
I had a rounded night I watched Dog Town and Z-Boys and Pooh's Heffalump Movie(again)

The Good, the bad and the ugly.

Garden State - I really liked it, a smart, little dramatic piece. A great film to have under your belt the first time out of the gate.

The Ninth Gate.

How could a Johnny Depp and Roman Polanski combination go so wrong?
Meet The Fockers..... this is what I get for trying to spend "quality time" with my mom and little sister. Needless to say I didn't smile once and now my eyes burn as if someone rubbed soap into them.

Notorious.

Notorious...an all time favorite.

Just finished The Cat Returns

Shoot To Kill

Tom Berenger
Sidney Poitier
Kristie Alley
Clancy Brown

Terrific thriller that takes place in the gorgeously shot mountains and forest of northern Washington and Canada. Some incredible scenes of survival and death. If you haven't seen it, I suggest renting it immediately. "Just sit back, and enjoy the ride."

Dead Presidents. Truly underappreciated film.
About to go watch another underrated one, Out of Sight.
Panic Room. I remembered liking it, and as things turned out, i liked it a bit more. granted it has been 3 years since my first viewing.

Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert (one of my faves)

Near Dark ( another fave)

War Of The Worlds (the Timothy Hines version...although I'm not sure this counts as a movie! )

High Tension.
Garden State, though I did catch a few minutes of The Patriot on TV last night.
Infernal Affairs: Fucking great.
Musa the Warrior. Surprisingly good old fashioned epic adventure. Lots of great gory fight scenes. I especially liked the numerous arrow shots in the neck or head. Also one of the best decapitations I've seen in a while.

A double bill of THE KARATE KID and DIRECT ACTION (The new Lundgren film that I had only seen previously on a screener DVD that would go black and white every 15 minutes). Both are great for different reasons, and between all the kicking in each of them I wish I had taken more martial arts than just that one semester in college.

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, a meaningless tribute to boost the ego of an empty man and even worse an empty story.
last film in theaters: Mr & Mrs Smith last night.
at home: Mystery Men this morning while tooling around on that intraweb that all the kids rave about.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Angelina was the better assassin, but I liked Pitt's charcter better. Great movie.

'Suddenly' with Frank Sinatra

What a weird, creepy movie.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Funny. Decent action. Perfect leads. Shitty ending. Overall fun summer movie, but forgettable.

Yesterday's triple feature:

The French Connection - gets better every time.

The Longest Yard - the real one, not the Billy Madison one.

Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events - better than I thought it would be, but then again, I've never read the books.
At home: Basic Instict. Had never seen it, thought it was pretty good.

In Theaters: Batman Begins....did not disappoint at all.
Caught Day of the Dead on Sci Fi the other day. Sure it was chopped and dubbed but it was still Day of the Dead.
Boxcar Bertha.

For a cheap, Corman produced exploitation Bonnie and Clyde knockoff, Scorsese really did some good work on it.

That one requires you to list the last five movies you watched, this one you can just post in any time you watch something worth mentioning. Pay attention.

Batman Begins, yesterday.

Mantinee ticket: $5.00
Small Pepsi: $2.26
Watching a loud, smart action movie with lots of 'splosions in an air-conditioned theater on a hot summer day: Priceless.

Joe D'Amato's Emanuelle In America
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events

Himalaya

Star Wars: Clone Wars: Vol. 1

All the above were very entertaining. About to watch Torrente 2: Mission in Marbella, based on Harry Knowles' recommendation.

Cool action sci-fi flick, the kind that could only be made in the 80s.
Kyle Mclachlan shows that he knew how to play an FBI agent, years before he became Agent Cooper in Twin Peaks.

Two Towers EE

I think the best of the trilogy, and I realize any other adaption will proably never equal the love and care PJ and the cast put into these flicks, TTEE is freaking pitch perfect wereas I thought ROTK was a little uneven

the only movie I have seen that not only met my expectations, but surprasssed them by leaps and bounds

I was hoping Begins could pull the same thing off but alas it feel as if Warners gave Nolan some guidelines, aka Katie Holmes, of course this could change for the second movie we shall see

Great film! Funny you should bring it up because Michael Nouri is one of those actors that really fell off the map but he was in my weekend selection, HIGH ROLLER: THE STU UNGER STORY.

It's the true life tale of the only 3 time World Series of Poker champion. With Michael Imperioli in the lead, and co-starring Steven R. Schirripa, I was hoping it would be "The Sopranos" meets ROUNDERS. It's pretty run of the mill until the last 30 minutes which serve as a good showcase for Imperioli. It was also cool to see Pat Morita show up in a few scenes since THE KARATE KID was one of the movies I watched last week.

I watched 'Fallen Angels' with Katharine Isabelle the other day, a great piece of Canadian cinema.

And last night I saw 'Batman Begins,' what a movie! It was a perfect theatre experience.

Batman Begins, IMAX theater.
Fun movie...memorable non-movie moment, telling the attractive sunburned blonde that she would have to join the rest of the peons at the back of the concession line, not in the front of the line...priceless.
