Seinfeld: Season 4 DVD set

This is it, the breakthrough season, 'The Contest' 'The Bubble Boy' 'The Junior Mint' and my personal favorite 'The Shoes' only because of Elaine.

I never realized how dark the humor was in 'The Trip pts 1 and 2' until I listened to the commentary, Kramer auditioning for the music video and the drink was just pure Kramer, the reaction from the guy on the left was priceless, he just couldn't contain it anymore and went off camera to laugh.

Anyone else get this?

This is going to be a long-distance purchase for me. I'll nibble away at it over a few years, get lucky with used boxes maybe. It's not a must-have series for me right now. But someday, definitely.

I just finished it yesterday and loved it. I was shocked to see so many familar faces in guest shots (Tobin Bell, Teri Hatcher and Denise Richards come to mind). Am surprised I didn't get through it sooner...

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

'Get a good look, Costanza'

Cliff Howard's also in there in memorable appearence 'Ann Lander's SUCKS'

I'm glad a thread was started about this set. I resisted the urge to grab the first 2 but this may be the best season ever for a live action sitcom. There isn't a bad episode in this set, maybe one or two average ones but it's aces from start to finish. I haven't rewatched them all yet but I'm looking forward to seeing Jeremy Piven as "Sitcom George."

I got it as an early Father's Day present a few weeks back, and need to crack it open. "Junior Mints" was on TBS the other day, and it reminded me that I hadn't opened the set yet.

I was trying to think of a truly bad Seinfeld episode, and (other than the series finale), I really couldn't think of one. Sure, some of the early episodes were weak, but nothing worse than some of the sitcom crap on today.

There are not many bad "Seinfeld" episodes. I didn't mind the finale because I liked seeing all the obscure characters come back, especially the Philip Baker Hall library cop. The 2nd to last one, with the Puerto Rican Day Parade was bad and I couldn't stand the one that told the story backwards.

You know, that's actually one of my favorite episodes. I really liked the way it worked. I especially thought the "embiggening" (forgive me Jebediah Springfield) of Kramer's lollipop was one of the funniest things about it.

The lollipop bit was the funniest part to be sure. As the series reached its end the stories got way over the top which was often funny (George's Frogger machine, Kramer's talk show set) but the backwards episode came off as too much of a stunt.

The only drawback of having my own place now is that I can't afford this or That 70s Show (season II) or In Living Color (season III).

"The Contest" is unquestionably the greatest Seinfeld episode ever.

It was great how they tied in the spongebath scene to 'The Outing'
