Considering this is the Special Edition I've been waiting for since the day I bought my first DVD (the Independence Day 5-Star, fyi), anything preventing me from doing backflips in the streets right now deserves immediate elaboration.

I will buy it,but still wonder why anybody would want to buy a SE of "The Fly 2". Hell, why anybody would want "The Fly 2" in the first place.

As a side note, I'm glad they got Cronenberg commentary. I had heard Fox was planning on releasing it without.

I mourn the omission of the best special feature on THE FLY 2.

As for the first, Cronenberg had said the only way he'd do a commentary is if he got to oversee the transfer. He's never been happy with the film on home video. That he's on board is great. After this the only Cronenberg film without a decent DVD release will be M BUTTERFLY. In terms of commentaries and approved transfers, he may be the best-represented of the directors pantheon on DVD. That fucking rocks.

OK, here's the scoop - there was a commentary recorded for the disc that ultimately was not used. It featured some cool people that you know (Nick being one of them) and was informative and hilarious. It's a shame, but that's the breaks.

And that's all that can be said about it right now.
