BATMAN BEGINS sequel - Villains? - Page 3

Edward Norton as The Joker OR Mr. Freeze

I think Norton easily fits in with the atmosphere and style of the new film.

Barry Woodward is fucking nuts.

Steve Carrell? I don't see him being threatening.

Somebody somewhere else mentioned Tony Hale (Buster from Arrested Development) and I think he could work. He really embodies a crazy character as Buster with a great physicality to it and I can see him doing so as the Joker and adding an edge to it that'd make him menacing. He'd have to lose some weight, though.

Oh and Will Arnett (GOB from Arrested Development) should be Two-Face. Of course now I'm just kidding...or am I?

I think Jo Odagiri the guy who played Bijomaru in Azumi would make quite an excellent joker..

What about making the next film a simplified version of "The Long Halloween"? If Nolan and crew are intent on making Two-Face the villain for the third film, the framework of that storyline would set things up nicely. They could toss out alot of the rogues gallery cameos while still focusing on the core idea of Gotham's mafioso being eliminated by a serial killer... that serial killer, in the name of making things less baroque, could be the Joker. Perhaps they could introduce the Joker via his "Killing Joke" origin story and then lead into "The Long Halloween" with his motivation being revenge on the criminal underworld that turned him into the Joker. It would be excellent to see the story of the "normal" crime families of Gotham being besieged by this new wave of "freak" criminals on the big screen, especially since the first film set up the Falcone family.
As a side note, I think George McFly would make a great Joker, although there would exist the danger that his performance would be perilously similar to Crazy Thin Guy or whatever the hell his character was called in Charlie's Angels.

A Joker character who's motivation is revenge is not a Joker I want to see.

I also have always found the 'He was a shitty stand-up comedian who couldn't support his family so he took a mafia job in hopes of making enough money to support them until everything went completely bad' origin kinda lame (mostly the shitty stand-up comedian part).

They already had that basic thing happen with Scarecrow fucking up Falcone and the inmates being turned loose.

I doubt he'd do it. He apparently only did Charlie's Angels with the stipulation that he would have no lines, so imagine what kind of crazy shit he'd demand in order to play the Joker. Nolan and company would probably find it easier to just get somebody else. Not only that, but he's a little too obvious a choice for him to work for me.

People are seriously still thinking about Robin Williams? At least some movie fans, it seems. Take the stunt casting of some krazee komick and give it to someone like Barry Pepper, think about it, photoshop it, the guy could look like the joker.

I believe the card is a recreation from the Killing Joke, but memory might be fuzzy.

Looks aren't the only thing the Joker needs.

And you could photoshop ANYBODY to look like the Joker.

The latest casting rumors from I Watch Stuff!:

Quote:
Several new rumors have popped-up about casting in the next Batman film. First, Brad Dourif, who played Grima Wormtongue in Lord of the Rings, may be up for the role of Dr. Arkham. Bob Hoskins, too, may have landed a part as Italian mobster Salvatore Maroni, presumably because all Italian mobsters are fat, little, bald men, and you can't have Danny DeVito in every Batman. Finally, Dr. Harleen Quinzel, the scientist who becomes The Joker's sidekick Harley Quinn, is rumored for Emily Watson. Emily Watson? Isn't Harley Quinn supposed to be a young, sassy, little cutie? I like Emily Watson, but not for this role. Is there a villain known for being kind of quiet and homely?

Sean Penn would be the perfect Joker. The character needs to be taken seriously. Burton's/Nicholson's take was a twisted spoof and nothing more. A buffoon that listened to Prince? Fuck that.

Rachel Leigh Cook would make the perfect Harley Quinn.

I see Bob Hoskins as crime boss, The Penguin. Of course no stupid gadgets or the bird fetish. Definitely none of that lame shit of making him a mutant.
