Will WINGS ever fly on DVD?

I can't speak for everyone, but I am a big fan of the show Wings. Call it a guilty pleasure or a way to kill time, but I still enjoy it. Occasionnaly you can catch it on NICK as a stand alone episode or for a while there they would have a mini marathon early on Friday evenings.

Anyhow, I'm assuming the delay is studio related or some issue with the actors and their compensation. Considering nowadays DVD releases follow within months of a show's season finale, I'm curious as to why this one is taking so long. Any thoughts or opinions on the show in general?

Great Discovery Channel show. I dig it.

I think if Daly's 'Eyes' would have stuck around for another season this show would have found it's way into our players.

Bah, you caught me before I could edit it. Surely the newfound popularity Antonio and Lowell could propel this into a million seller!

"Wings" was a lot more sucessful then most of the TV shows that have made it to DVD.
But then DVD release patterns as to what get released and what not has never made much sense.

I certainly thought about that though as well. With "Monk" being a hit and Church's career pulling a John Travolta, (along with Tim Daly's TV show), the added exposure would help push it to release.

Unfortunately I never saw Daly's show (scheduling conflict) but was it really bad? It's a pity networks only give shows about a month to take off or find an audience before yanking it from their schedule.

Also, has anyone else noticed that two of Stephen Kings' major made-for-TV movies (The Shining, and Storm of the Century) featured former Wings leads? Must have been a fan.

No, it was terrific!

At least Farrah Forke still looks hot.

Not like the Joan of Arcadia chick, who fucked the show hard by eating donut ice cream for three years straight.

Count me as someone who will buy Wings if it comes out on DVD. It was a fun watchable show with good characters.

It's on cable in the mid-east. I equate it with COACH - a guilty pleasure but not one I would own on DVD.

The "Coach" analogy is dead on. A decent enough show that didn't take many chances but was still good for a few laughs. They can't all be "Seinfeld" of "Cheers" but "Wings" was like a Denny's breakfast, you knew exactly what was coming and wanted it anyway.

"Tonight on Wings!... Ah, who cares?"
