Films that make you want to EAT or DRINK

I'm sorry, but if you don't want to drink a chilled beer out of a crystal clear glass after watching Ice Cold in Alex, you are probably dead.

The scene in GoodFellas where they're cooking in prison sends me into ravenous fits. Hell, that whole movie is as much about Italian cooking as it is about the Mafia.

Is that the bit in which he slices the garlic cloves with a razor blade?

I reached for a couple of bottles of Pinot after watching Sideways (it still tasted like urine).

Hellboy. Paaaaamcakes.

Funny how visual cues in movies do that sort of thing.

I've dated smokers who couldn't handle watching anyone light up onscreen without jones-ing for a cigarette.

Anyone else see Tortilla Soup a few years ago? Jesus, I'm hungry just thinking about it.

Conan the Barbarian - During the campfire scene when Conan and Subotai are chomping away on some sort of poultry (or whatever it is)... that shit always make me hungry.

"You know, I know this steak doesn't exist. I know that when I put it in my mouth, the Matrix is telling my brain that it is juicy and delicious."

I soooo want to eat that steak...

Funny, that movie had the opposite effect on me, I don't think I've tasted a hard boiled egg since first viewing it.

Can you say Cocktail? It is absolutely impossible to watch that movie without a drink...or five.

"Beer is for breakfast around here. Drink or be gone."

Spiderman 2 made me hungry for pizza.
I would have liked a chocolate frog.
Zombie movies always give me the hankrin' for brains.

Houseguest with Sinbad
It's like a two hour advertisement saying "you know you want a burger fatman"

I hate to admit this, because it's sort of lame and weird, but I started drinking scotch because of Bull Durham. Something about watching Costner drinking scotch while pontificating made me want to try it. At least I ended up really liking it.

I'm pretty susceptible to being subliminally enticed by the image of food. Most of the time I see food on TV and end up craving that particular food item. Except fast food. Those bastards don't seem to get to me. I'm weak. I am food's bitch.

I was beaten to "Big Night". Actually, when I lived in Kalamazoo, a restaurant in town had a 'Big Night Event' where we saw the movie in a private cinema, and then we went to Bravo! Ristorante and had EVERY course in the film replicated. AMAZING. Since then, I have made Timpano on numerous occasions.

I always want a drink when I see Swingers. Something about it is great. That film makes me hungry for post-drinking still-drunk shitty food from Denny's. Also, pepperoni cut with a pocket knife and orange juice from the bottle.

What the hell guys...Whenever I watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I better be eating a damn pizza!

Also Godfather and Goodfellas makes me need italian.

Jackie Brown. "Get me a screwdriver, homie."

Anchorman. Chocolate covered squirrel?

I had my first sarsaparilla in years after watching The Big Lebowski for the first time.

Maybe im just wierd, but here's some from me.

The Seven Samurai made me want to eat rice.
Cool Hand Luke made me never wanna eat eggs.
Day of the dead, when they eat the guys guts, always makes me hungry.
Any scene that Brad Pitts in in Oceans 11 makes me hungry (cause it looks like everything he eats is so good!)
Delicatessen makes me hungry.
Butcher Boy, okay actually im lying, but seeing the title makes me think of food.
Oh and the Crying Game makes me never want to drink at a bar again.

Ditto but substitute a white russian for saspirilla.

And this is really strange.....but in The Hunt For Red October, when Sean Connery is at dinner with his officers and they are eating fish. When he takes a bite of that fish the sound effects make it sound so damn juicy I immediately get hungry.

Like Water for Chocolate is intimately tied to food and drink.

Day of the Dead.
Watching this movie gave me a craving for a mouth full of greek sallad.

Eat-
Willy Wonka - The scene where they are first let loose in that garden with the chocolate waterfall.

Drink-
Batman and Robin and not in a good way.

Dude, where's my car? for Chinese.

The Sure Thing. Their meal using the credit card looks awesome.

Can't Hardly Wait always makes me want a beer

Desperado makes me want a beer

Dazed and Confused makes me want to drink twelve ice-cold Natural Lights. Then drive drunk out to a field with 50 people and stay there till 4 in the morning.

I went to high school in Kansas.

Seconded!!

Also, Roche's comment about Willy Wonka. When Gene Wilder is drinking/eating that buttercup, it so made me wish I had one of those.

And the scene in Harry Potter #1, when they sit down to eat for the first time after being sorted, all that food. Guh...makes my mouth water.

If you've ever seen the Japanese film Tampopo (about a struggling restauranteur trying to create the perfect ramen), it will fill you with an insatiable desire to eat ramen. Not the 25 cent crap though.

Damn it, I can't believe I forgot that one! That movie started my life long obsession with pizza, it usually makes me want chips and soda as well, and maybe some japanese take out.
Second the notion for Swingers. You just feel ccol having a Dewars on the rocks while watching it. Also, whoever mentinoed that where there is smoking always makes me want to light up. God knows what I am going to do next week when I watch Constantine.

Ohh and don't even get me started about what life was like during my double feature of Trainspotting and REquiem for a Dream....

I was unaware that other kinds of ramen existed...
Oh buddy, after watching Tampopo, it's hard to want the 10 for $1.00 stuff again. Takishi teaches a woman how to make the perfect bowl of ramen. If memory serves, the kind that makes you want to bring the bowl to your lips and slurp.

Also, after watching Varsity Blues, I had an urge to lick whipped cream off of Ali Larter. :-D

I definitely won´t order a live squid if i ever go to a sushi restaurant.
Oldboy is a great film and all but that scene made me wanna vomit.

Harold & Kumar ... for those tasty little burgers with the small, soft buns.

Best Appreciation of Whiskey...

Watch classic 80's western Silverado for the scene where Danny Glover just wants a bottle and bed, and a fight with rednecks ensues. After the fight, and the always spectacular John Cleese is throwing him out of town, check out the the way he grabs that still-standing shot of whiskey, stares at it, drinks it, and smiles.

Makes me crack a 5th of Jack Daniels every time I see it.
